I would go a little higher in current rating. If you can find a 6-volt 1 amp supply that would be better.

Well I had a little more time with it. I soldered the power leads form the diode after adjusting current. Here is the strange part. I could not get above about 380 ma. The pot increases current when rotated counterclockwise which is backwards from what I would expect. My power supply will supply...

Here you go. I got it working. (Woo Hoo) The damn connector to the Laser module is intermittent. THank god it didn't fry the diode. You have to hold it a certain way. I am going to solder it to the PCB when mounted. Note the connectors for the Red AND the green. Two adjustment Pots etc. Jules
