Tnx,
Yeah, I'm thinking I might buy a host kit and muck around with it myself. The laws in Australia vary from state to state and are somewhat ambiguous. In my home state of Victoria, you can get permission from the Commissioner of Police to buy, transport, store, display, sell, own, use a laser...
Hi Fiddy,
I've been admiring your collection of lasers and was wondering how I would get started on this hobby? Looks like a rewarding little pastime that might suit me. What are the basics that I'd need to buy? Soldering iron? bits 'n' bobs??
awesome, tnx Fiddy.
I'm playing w a 30mW 532nm module from Ebay right now, but not having any luck. It has a third TTL wire which confused me (I'm not an electronics buff *at all*) but I believe I can either ignore that wire or connect it to the red +ve wire anyway. I think I've been sold a dud...
Hi all,
I've spent a lot of time reading posts in this forum (and elsewhere) and still having trouble deciding on what to buy.
I want a 532nm pointer for use as an astronomy demonstrator, both in the city and at dark sky sites.
I want reasonably good power, and don't want to buy cheap...
tnx again Things, when I connect red and yellow to +ve and black to -ve, I still get nothing! Perhaps a dodgy cheapy from Ebay? What do you mean by a "link to the module"?
TIA
Rob :)
tnx heaps, yeah I've tried just connecting to 3V batteries, but nothing. When you say connect the TTL to 3V, do you mean the +ve terminal of the same battery as the red wire?
TIA :)
Hi,
I'm *not* very savvy wrt electronics, so please keep your responses simple!!!! I'm an astronomy demonstrator and have got a 30mW green laser module which I want to use to make a pointer. It has 3 wires coming from the board: a red, a black and a yellow. I guess the red and black are +ve and...
