I also started with blu-rays for some reason. Not as defined and visible beam compared to other colors but they burn the best!
I remember the first time I saw 1W of blue, it will blow your mind :D
If you put it inside a pen and fully insolate the module it will build up heat very fast no doubt. Also in your pen build the module is sticking out so it doenst have a chance of dispersing the heat through the body.
There is a way to isolate it inside a pen but still let some of the heat...
I used to do this alot also with the 380A chip. I would suggest using at least a ceramic cap otherwise it wont last you as long!
Also keep in mind that this driver is + continuous, so you have to insulate the module from whatever host you put it in. :)
Well, I get what your saying, diferent wattages with diferent light sources might produce the same intensity of light.
From what i´ve seen, Wattage is used verywhere even with LED Bulbs as "power rating" and due to selling point of view. The only place i see the lumens rating is when buying...
Hi! :yh:
I just found this old halogen lamp and I thought about installing a remote controlled RGB LED bulb to either light up my room or to set a specific mood :)
I found hundreds of led bulbs on ebay but since it will sit inside the parabolic dish the IR remote might not work ?!
Also, I...
Re: NDB7675 1.9w 470nm Pen laser made by Alien Laser :D
I´d love to own one of those, that´s insane man!
Maybe you could use a wet cloth and place it beneath the business end to cool it long enough to have a full reading, it wont be a true reading but that´s what I would do :p
Hi Imraneesa :)
Back in 2011 I built my first 445 in that host!! After looking at hundreds of 18650 hosts, this one caught my atencion.. It just looks awesome shooting a bright blue beam and like Redcowboy said, the belt clip makes it uncommon and I think better looking than it´s cousin, the...
Nice pocket laser :) this one is pretty close to the first one i built, but i had to use a flexdrive instead of a linear like the amc... how did you insulate the module?
If it were a true 100mW then 700mA from a AMC 7135 driver (2x chips) would be perfect, you could run it with a single li-on, minimum heat, and continuous positive. I a "100mW" module from a dealextreme pen running at 700mA in a C6 for about 2 years now..
Re: The Bastard: 405nm 500ma UltraFire KF-T60
You had your diode connected to the driver while setting current?
Yeah i grabed a benboost from moh at the beginning and it killed one of the two 12x i had.. But aside from drivers and current spikes and all that, I was talking in general about...
Re: The Bastard: 405nm 500ma UltraFire KF-T60
I have to warn you man, my 12x died after 2 month of daily use at 500mA. It did not matter how well heatsinked it was it just died.
Some dont even last an hour at that current, 450mA seems to be best for longer life.
