My 'old' Wicked Laser, blue Artic, about 1.3W produces a very small spot at several hundred feet away. I was expecting the spot from this one to be similar.
Maybe someday, a very smart person will invent a laser diode that produces a round beam (instead of oval beams) directly from the chip...
Thanks for the info! I should have done more research before purchasing! I was 'sucked-in' by their spec that claimed the beam had a distance of 18.64 miles. But now, I'm ratioing my spot size measurements at 50 feet, and I estimate that the 'spot' at 18.64 miles will be about 800 feet wide...
I just received a Odin 5000mW, 450nm pointer from C4Lasers. It has a focus ring, but the smallest 'spot' I can get at about 50 feet is a rectangle of about 1 inch by 5 inches. See pic.
I contacted their support@c4lasers.com, but they indicated that this is about the best to expect.
Is there a...
I got some of the Norland 61 from eBay, but it never dried, even after three days, and direct sunlight and a UV flashlight for an hour, and after 15 seconds with a blue laser. Here's the link...
Thanks for the 'heads up'.
I'm dealing with a 3mm dia lens.
And I definitely do not want it fogged.
Someone recommended Norland Optical Adhesive 61, but it seems more for joining 2 glass lenses together.
Thanks for the guidance!
This will a bit different than the last one I set up, many years ago. That one was a Toshiba 9211 5mw red, with a PD feedback.
I got (2) of LDSE500 - Compact SEPIC (Buck/Boost) Laser Diode Drivers. I'll be powering PLT3-510. I'll set it up with several dummy diodes first, to see if volts/current look correct.
Gave up waiting for Innolaser!
Called CC Co. They removed the charge.
Still have not heard from Inno!
Too bad! It looked like a nice product, and a nice company.
Ok....I have not called my CC company yet to cancel the payment. But I did place an order with DTR for their similar driver as recommended by RedCowboy. It's been a month waiting on Innolaser. No response, no tracking info, no reply to email/phone. Very disappointing!
Yes! I will also need to get this assembly mounted. This is for a new system which is not commercially available. It will go 'in', not 'on' the firearm. I picked up a molded plastic asphere, Ø3mm, columnating lens from Thor Labs. I will be make a small steel holder/focuser for it. I don't...
Thanks! I'll look at those batteries.
This is for a firearms aiming system, so I don't expect too much 'on' time. But I would hope a total life of a half hour or so would be available.
