Hey guys, I have an issue with one of my 50mW pointers, the little rubber thing that holds the driver in place has broken, seems like an easy fix, but I haven't been finding any readily available items around the casa to replace it. Suggestions anyone? N00bs, Pros?

Sorry dude, it seems like youe D.I.Y sense hasnt kicked in yet!!

I have no desire or patience to order little bits and pieces of lasers from around the world and hope they show up. DIY is not my bag of chips.

Agree on that.. it really pisses me off when they dont show up! u probably wont find the rubber thing alone aswell.. just use some insulation tape with precise cuttings and replicate the structure..
Anyways, hope u find a better solution and what youre looking for :)

I considered the tape, but i've actually had these little 50's warm up with use, wouldn't want sticky all over the driver.

There is not much room i know.. let it get hot.. doesnt matter it can still work for a 30~40s duty cycle.. this would fix it temporarily unless you find anything that matches the rubber holder..

The replacement for the rubber is easy. I saw someone making one. Use the lasertube to imprint on some high-density foam or other soft material. You will get a nice circular rubber from it. Then cut a hole into the middle and also cut to the right thickness. You should get a perfect copy of the rubber thing.

Thanks! solved my problem. :D
