This is my first review, so I'm sorry if I leave anything out. :thanks:

I won't get into the packaging, it came in the standard "bag from china" but everything was intact and fine. It comes in a decent cardboard box w/magnetic flap. Included was a really crappy looking (but works well) dual charger, that has plug for your car, and you can switch the voltage between 1.2v, 3.7v, and 4.2v. I tried it and it works fine.

Not much I can say about the host that you won't see for yourself in the photos, but I do love it. Its solid, has some decent heft w/battery and its a great size. It has adjustable focus which is a nice smooth action. I really liked the Arctic host, but I like this one better. The battery is a *perfect* fit, so no rattles, and the tail cap threads on smooth. The lights are a perfect level, not to bright or dim. The blue light on my PL-C was so bright I put tape over it.

The smart switch. :undecided: It should be named the retard switch, because thats how it makes you feel when your girlfriend wants to see your new expensive laser, and you can't turn it on. It took me a while before I could finally work it correctly, and even now I mess it up sometimes. Its nice not to have any keys, but they could make it easier to turn on. It allows you to change the power level from 30-70-100% which is kinda nice. The other button above it is for switching between pulsed or constant. I really don't understand what the pulsed mode is for, unless you have a desire to experiance seizures?

The output is awesome, this is the brightest green I've seen. Next to my 2W 445, it does *seem* to be brighter. The beam is super tight, and the dot is super small. It reminds me of my 12x Blu Ray. I am really impressed. Its insane at night, even in the city. The photos I took of the dot are next to a mm ruler, and the laser was exactly 20" away from the door. Even on low power it burns quite well, you'll see the scorch marks in my photo. The whole time I've had it, I've never noticed anything other than a perfectly round dot.

Ok, now for the part I know most of you came in here to see, the output. :)

Other than that dip at first, it stays above 500mW the entire time. If I didn't have the turn on and shut-off in there, the average would have been higher. While its on, power seems constant. Can't really see any blinking or up and down fluctuation. (I've had a couple like that) This was done using a Tenergy 2600mah cell, I'm out of any better cells at the moment. I've ordered more, when they arrive I'll meter it again. After having it on that long to meter it, the body was warm to the touch, but nothing that seemed out of the ordinary. For giggles I measured the amp draw at the tail:

power on = .01a
30% =1.48a
70% =1.79a
100% =2.15a

*EDIT*
Got my new cells from larryDFW, here are the results:

After a request, I did the measuring to calculate mRad. I measured 1mm at the aperture, and 17mm @ 41.5' giving me 1.26mRad.
Also was requested to do an IR leakage test. With a fully charged battery, got a new peak of 602mW. Stuck the glasses in front of the beam, it dropped to a pretty steady 82mW. The glasses say Eagle Pair, 200-540nm, OD>4.

Well I suppose thats it. I can really say this is my favorite green, better than the PL-C I had, and better than the DD Firedragon. (by tons) I feel fine with the price, the laser really feels like its worth it. Other than being annoyed with the smart switch, I really have no negatives for this thing.
I've had nothing but a good experiance with JetLasers (this is my 2nd laser from them) they have great customer service, fast enough shipping, superb products, etc. I can easily see myself buying from them again.

If I've left anything important out, or if there is anything else you would like to see or know, just ask and I will try to do it.
Here are the photos!

The SuperSwitch ain't that bad once you can mimic the timing in this video...

After watching this, I can turn on my PL-D on the first try almost every time now.

BTW, did you check for any IR leakage?

Awesome laser and host! And nice review.

Gonna purchase the one watt blue in that host, looks so sweet!

What was the shipping time for you?

Yeah I checked this out in your post to the GB thread. I've pretty much got it down now, but the Arctic was easier to learn. All in all, its better than a key lock.

I have no IR filter, so noway to check.

Actually I have no idea when they sent it, so I'm not sure. They shipped mine separate because I had sent them my PL-C. (it was getting warranty work) This laser was part of GB #6, and Ive had mine for a few days now, and the rest of the GB hasn't arrived yet.

Do you have goggles that will block out all green light?

If you do, you can put them in front of your sensor to test for any IR leakage.

You can also use several layers of negative film strips to block out the green light.

Actually I do have goggles from Jetlasers. I'll do it later this evening, and add the results to the main review.

This should be a very decent burner with such a small dot! You don't even have to focus it! The firedragon while focused to infinity can't burn shit.
Great review!

Were the glasses blocking all of the green light? If they were, 82mW sounds like a lot for an IR filtered laser. But maybe this is normal for such a high powered greenie?

Interesting... I also detect IR leakage from my PL-D 600 when using a diffraction grating and night vision camera. Too bad my LPM is out of commission at the moment.

How is your divergence? You can easily calculate it with pseudonomen137's mRad Calculator.

Ok, using the calculator, I came up with .66mRad. From what I could measure (I need a better mm ruler) the beam was 1mm at the aperture, and 3mm at 10'.

.66mRad is too good to be true. :yh:

Farther distances give more accurate results.

One of these days I'll get a friend to help me make a 100m measurement at a local high school track.

Yeah I thought so. Best I could do in here today would be 30-40 feet.
