So far im impressed with there shipping times.
Ordered on the 28th.
Its already traveled from SHENZHEN - CHINA,
to CINCINNATI, OH - USA in 3 days!!!!
Crazy fast.
should be at my door step in 2 days..
for a total of 5 days from china to texas... :)
now lets hope the laser is worth a shit.. :D

Take out the "sponge" which covers the spring on the driver board, and put in some support under the driver board. Put the "sponge" back, and assamble. Hopefully your laser will last longer than my 5 minutes of joy with it :)
The laser is easy to disassamble - perfect for later tweaks ;)

ya I was planning on it after I saw your post about it.
I hope it they work something out with you on that one.
Maybe mine will come "dry" and not dropped.. Still though
I plan on checking it out first before I power it up.
Thanks for the heads up.

Nice! Did you know that it's possible to unscrew half of the battery housing if you have CR123 cells?

Anyways. I got a reply from Chinavasion that they could not replace my laser because I had disassambled it to take pictures... The charger does not fit either - even if it is a "European standard". Well, it says pretty clear in the warranty conditions, that I cannot have a replacement for free. It's cheaper to buy a new one, than the shipping cost from Norway to China. Later I found out they took care of shipping in case of warranty...

I will buy a new one. I blew it, and must take the blame.

When you have measured the power, please let me know the output :)

Nope didnt know that, thanks though.
but as long as it works, not gunna unscrew nothing... lol
Ill have it LPM'd asap. I got ready to do it then a "duh" moment.... I left it..

It burns, semi visable in a well lit room. but since this is my first green,
I cannot guess what the power just of sight.
Did you notice how small the beam is coming out the end??
its as small as my argon.. like a tiny needle beam, even messing with the focus...
its pretty small.. is that just common along greenies?

Not really. Mine are all over the place. Personally I prefer thin beams on green lasers.

Edit: Can't wait to see your LPM results. Please test for IR as well?

mmm im gunna have to look up how...
First green, so new to IR and what not.
I got a 2.5 USB laserbee gunna test with.
So not sure how much of the results ill get is IR or how ever that works.

Very easy, two ways to do it, either with an IR filter, or with goggles rated for 532nm.

Based on your laser collection I assume you have a second set of goggles:)

So let the LPM run, shine the laser on it, defocused so the dot is just a little smaller than the square, from 6" away. Measure the output, and see what you get. This will tell us green+IR.

After that, same exact procedure, but put goggles right in from of the LPM. Whatever is passing through, should be almost all IR. I mean assuming you have od 3+ goggles.

Very important, defocus the laser... especially for the second test, because if you don't you might damage the goggles.

ahhh excellent
yes I got a few googles :) two eagle pair, whatever the hell WL sends out with its Artic and some red ones I got of ebay. ya Ill make sure to defocus :)
Ill shine it through a part of glass's that arent directly where my eyes would view through, just in case :)
Thanks for info

Exactly... I use some mystery goggles I bought with a laser while back... they are od 3, and I tested them against 532nm as well as 445nm... but since they look so crappy and beat up I use them strictly for testing now.

Ok had to come back to work early :(
First I got like 130mw. unknown charge on it from supplier
Then I charged it up for bout 2 hrs.. ya im impatient..
got 145mw then. and Through my eagle eye glasses I got 40mw.
so im guessing its 115mw with 40mw of IR? Ill do another test tommorow on a fully charged battery.

Thanks

Pretty high IR content, but I'm not surprised. I have the same exact looking laser from o-like, and it also has ~40mW of IR.

Can you post a link to the exact laser you got please?

Hmm, well, for the price it's not bad at all. I paid $138 for the o-like, and it's only ~50mW more power. Very tempting. I might grab one friday after I get paid.

Seems like the design started popping up all over other china sites shortly after I ordered mine.

Small pierced dot is common for greenies. A 808nm IR laser diode is pumping a chrystal. The small point of IR light at the IR laser diode chip creates a small point of 1064nm light, in the close proximity chrystal, which is again frequency doubbled to 532nm - still very small point. The luminated tiny point inside the chrystal is reflected back and forth between coated mirrors at the end of the chrystal - just like a argon laser - and creates an extremely narrow beam.

However, this beam have poor divergence, so a tiny convex lens is placed right after the chrystal so it can be spread even more, and then collimated by the lens at the apperture - like a small telescope. A beam expander. This expander reduce the divergence a lot.
1 - 1.5mm is common diameter of the beam at the apperture.

BTW, I ordered one more today. Hopefully that one will work longer than the last one.
