Hi,

Just to say first off, that I don't know anything about lasers really, but I've managed to secure one of the Arctic 1W lasers, and I need to film it in action as a part of a demonstration for a website.

I also have a Canon 550D digital camera that I need to film it with, and I want to be sure that I don't do anything stupid that will break anything. I understand that I need to protect my own eyes with goggles, but what about the camera? What do I need to do to make sure that the camera isn't damaged by the bright beam (other than remembering not to shine it right into the lens :) )

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The Photonlexicon.com forum can help on most of your questions. You should check them out too. Signing up is easy.

When asked, you should know that LASER is an acronym consisting of the following constituent words:
Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

They are better equipped with answering how to photograph lasers.

It has more info and less noise. Plus they are more friendly. I've seen a lot trolls on here, and the drama gets old.

Thanks for the replies, do you think I will be OK filming the laser so long as I don't point the laser into the camera? Thanks

I disagree! There haven't been enough trolls since T_J left. Hmmm where did he go? I sense his essence somehow. Oh well.......+1 to you kind sir. :)

Yeah its me. :D I originally planned to leave. I made this account so I could use the forum tools to keep up new info. Then I decided to come back, and I was already using this account, so I kept it.
