Hello I have a question. We have here at the school, a Savin 6050 (I think) and it is FAST!! prints both sides of the pages at the same time and when I sent a 50 page document by the time I get to the printer it is finished. My question is, since it is huge and it is FAST wouldn't there be a bigger laser than a 5 mw infared diode laser in that machine? And would you find a DPSS laser in a large printer copier? Thanks Scoob

I am a copy machine tech, and the power has nothing to do with speed.

There is no reason for a DPSS laser in a copy machine, in fact a low power IR diode is all that is needed.

The machine is a mechanical device with electric motors and drive belts to push the sheets of paper through, no matter how fast the machine is, it will never come close to the speed of light processing images.

Trust me, it still has a low power IR diode laser in it.

I am also a copier tech and just pulled one out of a konica minolta 7145. It is definitely an IR.
