That might void your warranty. I'd check with Jack, if anyone has pictures it would be him.

Nice review.

Probably. It has a warranty sticker (Warranty Voided if removed) on the laser where the heat sink merges with the body. I guess it's there so that you can't unscrew the assembly without removing the sticker.

And thanks.

Hi Moptsp, yes it would void your warranty.
Kenom, I would say that that glue on top that you're seeing is from something that was glued there that didn't belong...ie. a previous owner (it's passed through several owners) may have tried gluing something on there.
I've seen the internal modules of these on hundreds of units and the picture you posted looks perfectly normal except for that glue on top.

would you be willing to take a picture of the module inside the head? I think that Don't_laze_me_bro's RPL is missing an OC or lens at the top of the module. I'd like to see exactly what it is so I can replace it.

Here is the picture of his. You can see the white glue on top clearly indicates there was something on top

You know what Kenom, I just looked closer at your picture. Is there a break in the darker colored vertically aligned glue? It looks like there might be. If this is the case, then it's very probable the very top section of the module is missing and I would ask the owner if all the pieces were sent with it. I'm not sure, but it might be that your not the 1st person he sent it to to attempt a repair; I would ask him.
