Showing off my new green 543nm bare tube HeNe! Got both the tube and power supply from Dave, and some great tips and info about it. This tube is my longest and my most powerfull at 2mW.
Its a deeper green than 532nm, and it looks awesome in person! 2mW of 543nm looks alot brigher than you'd expect it to.
If your a wavelength junkie like me than gas lasers will get you some very unique and interesting colors, great way to add to your collection....
Also, the beam exits the anode end on this one:D

A quick show using front surface mirror, shows the shade of green really well!

And some pictures:

Will add some beamshots once I feel like filling my basement with smoke again:D

I had to adjust the mirrors slightly in order to raise output and this beast bit me through my rubber gloves several times, guess it didnt hear about 'biting the hand that feeds':crackup:Lol!

This is a great looking tube, with alot of plasma exposure, nice bright dot, and amazing color. If you love HeNes you will love a tube like this:D

Also if anyone wants to see my smaller 632.8nm red tubes I made a thread a awhile back:http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/bare-tube-hene-sweet-pics-51014.html

Thanks! What happened to yours?
It really is an awesome color, I actually like it alot better than 532nm, infact I would like to have this color in DPSS and alot more powerfull!

The ballast resistor assembly is sort of... not connected anymore. :(

Ah, that sucks. I take it you have an enclosed laser head right, not just the tube. Maybe there is a way to free the tube, then you can just wire it up....

I've considered it. I may set aside a few hours and do it extremely carefully.

It's a yellower green by definition. It might look "deeper" in some cases, but that is only because it's "dimmer"

Actually I didnt even think of that, it is closer to yellow/red than 532nm, but side by side with even a few mW of 532nm it just looks like a different shade. IDK, irregardless I like 543nm alot:p
