I've been reading, and apparently a GGW sled has a 20X red diode in it. Does the SW-AW sled have a decent red diode in it? Also, what's the max safe current on an SW-AW? I've seen 180-200mA on a few sites, but I couldn't find a chart or anything here on LPF.

Galaxy ---

That goes back so far...... I tested some blu's back then but I don't find any records here on the red if there was one. It may have only been an IR.
You will likely have to power it up and graph the diode to find the knee in the curve like others here. When you find the knee, back off about 50 mA.
We look forward to your data on this diode as there are likely many floating around.

I look forward to the day where I can provide such information...until then, I'll hope someone else has the information and will post about it here. :)

BG --- If you have a soldering iron, Power meter and a DMM, you can join the members doing the experiments. Out of 9,000 members, there's only wellll -- maybe 100 of us really building lasers.

BG - there you have a good starting point. Start at about 100 mA and bring it up to 250 mA graphing your power.

I'm aware of this. However, I don't have a power meter.

I found this the other day---- SF-aw210 question

I think this is what you are asking

Yes! Exactly! Thanks.
