I stumbled across this site specifically searching for a good laser forum with a for sale section. I was looking to get into the higher power aspect of the hobby at a reduced cost. So I found this site and within 2 days of looking over the for sale section an item got my attention and I quickly jumped on it.

The seller seems to be a great guy and nice to deal with.
My history with lasers is not that exciting. Just mainly interested in them since watching star wars as a kid in the 80's. I bought a few weak surplus red lasers (diode type but requiring an external batter) in the 90s and then really got hooked and bought a custom 20mw green laser from ExtremeLasers in 2000 for $420 . Ever since then I have only had a few cheap lasers because most of my money was being spent on my other hobbies (Computers, RC Helicopters, etc).
I am now back to putting money in my laser collecting hobby and learning as much as I can about them so that I can start building my own in kit form.
I bought four 405nm protection goggles from scopeguy20 (another great seller) for protection during my experiments with burning in my home makeshift lab area. Now to go over as many safety threads as I can to make sure I learn from others mistakes .
Looking forward to reading the abundance of great technical knowledge on this forum. So far I am very impressed with the forum.
My professional career is in network security and administration.
If anyone is into RC Helicopters I am xStatiCa on RunRyder RC Helicopter - Home too.
... more to follow hopefully as I have time.
