All this sounds very exciting.
I can certainly tell you that a HUGE part of what makes me choose one company over another depends on whether communication with the company is efficient and honest. It is also important, especially regarding lasers, that specifications are kept honest. I am more likely to pay $100 for a 120mw laser I know will be 120mW or slightly more than to pay 50$ for a 150mW laser which may be far below spec. Therefore I would also recommend that you obtain a laser power meter (LPM). Being able to verify output would REALLY make you stand out from the many many other cheap laser dealers.

You haven't seen their 6x diode video testing then. Dig that LPM :D

We are talking about professional laboratory equipement here dude. I am sure they know their stuff! :)

Just FYI, I was only temp working for O-Like, I now am not working for them any more, was just helping out with the site.

You'll soon be seeing a sort of "sister" company of O-Like.
It'l basically be O-Like, with free shipping and some products will be slightly cheaper.
A huge focus will be on Customer Service. With live chat actively available, and very fast email response times.

You'll just have to wait and see though :p

O-Like will continue to run as normal when this website is erected.

Who is going to be running or owning this sister site?

Co-Run with O-Like.

What we are thinking of doing is sending the exact milliwatt reading to the user's email address once their laser has been tested, as a bit of an USP.

I am sure everyone here will be pleasantly impressed :)

We'll also have the full product catalog (or most of it) online.

:)

I am giving away far too much aren't I :p

Also, are there any particular products you would like to see on the website? If it is stanard O-Like stock, it will be listed, if not, we will look into it :)

This all sounds really good :) O-like was already at the top of my list of places to buy cheaper laser stuff but this is taking it to an even higher level!

I would like to see the green laser modules from O-like on the new site too.

A couple of questions:
Can you give any hint as to when the new website will go online?
Will the "exact milliwatt reading" apply to both the new site and O-like?

I agree with this 100%
I have no problem paying more for a item, If it is sold honestly. One thing about O-Like is how she sells her lasers. She always includes the minimum expected output. I just bought a 200mW 532nm module from her. Am I expecting 200mW, no. It is sold as a module typically putting out
175-200+mW of power. As long as I get my module within her advertised spec I'm more then happy with my purchase.

Their is one thing I always wondered about. If she does do random checks on her modules. What does she do with the ones that are above spec or very close to spec? I have tried to ask her about this, even offering to pay a fee for one that is very close to or above the desired spec. Never really got a answer.
It would be nice to maybe see a extra service offered that would allow the customer to receive a guaranteed module with a even smaller gap in specs. Say I were to pay a extra $30. This would guarantee me a module with a output of 190-200+mW. Plus it would include a print out from a LPM.

If you ever do get a item that is far below spec you always have the option to send it back. However shipping items out of the us with the USPS is very costly. To ship from China using Hong Kong post with tracking is only a few dollars. It is almost $30 to send to China with tracking, using USPS. So it's almost worth it to just Pay a extra $30 to avoid any such situation in the first place.

The green laser modules will be on there.
We are thinking of sorting the categories like:

Laser Pointers
-Red
-Green
-Blu-Ray
-etc
Laser Hardware
-Modules
-Drivers

etc. What are everyones thoughts on this.
Exact mW reading will only be on the new one.
Differentiation my friend :)
And, probably within the next week.
The Chinese new year will affect the release date.

Above spec lasers are left alone (unless significantly above spec, thus lowering the diodes life significantly etc)

Below spec lasers are upped to the correct spec.

We will seriously take your consideration of higher laser power guarantees! :)

The lasers are kept within the limits of the hardware.
If an underspec laser has faulty hardware causing a strength issue, the hardware is replaced, and the rest is checked to ensure of it's quality.

We also have a six month warranty service.

Sounds great. :)

Does your warranty service include free return shipping?

I love the new o-like, even more than I did the old one, also I like the idea of live chat and faster responses, but o-like isn't o-like without Susie. :)

Susie hasn't gone.
This isn't a new O-Like by the way, it is simply another distribution channel :)

Iskor, no, the warranty doesn't include free return shipping.

Hello I am wondering how long it usually takes for an item to ship once payment has been recieved. The o-like contact email doesn't seem to be working currently. Thanks for any answers

Generally 1 or 2 days

Will this be on the new site?
My last 2 orders from O-Like have taken much longer. In fact the actual shipping time of my orders. Have been faster then the packing and prep of the package.
I just order a 200mW module on 1/29 today is the 2/6
I still have not received the tracking number she usually sends once it's ready for the Hong Kong post.
I don't mind so much, except right now. I have a custom built host in dire need of my O-Like module.
