I was just having a convorsation with my best friend and fellow laserist Scotty, and we thought of something. Weapons grade lasers will more than likely be invisible, IR... Maybe it'd work as a space weapon, or as an arial artillery piece like boeing's ABL (airbourne laser), but think of this: you're assigned to a three man team, in charge of clearing a building, you take point with your new (smith&wesson lol) 150GW IR shotgun, 3...2...1... The shape-charge blows a hole in the wall, you burst through, safety off, Find a target, and pull the trigger, the enemy lights up and falls to the ground, or you think so, you can't see though... Your two squadmates are holding their heads, the nearby Stryker APC you rolled in on is checking out it's systems, because all visual sensors aren't responding. A predator UAV is also checking it's sensors, IR is down, same with visual, but it's still got you on heat... Now, to some of you reading this, it may be immature and/or far-fetched, but if you were to hit a white (or with that type of power, any color) wall when you went in... Will this not be a problem? What will they do, "IR proof" all of their IR sensors? I dn't think so...

Your way of telling me I have a spelling error? Please, tell me where.

Censor = to omit or remove information to prevent it from being seen, AKA Censorship

Sensor = A device for measuring or detecting the presence of an object or signal (as in photo sensor)

No insult intended;) I was just being a bad comedian.

edit - No problem ;) I see your post that appeared while I was typing.

Back on topic, I would also worry about civilians (women, children, priests, etc..) being irradiated by stray reflections of that magnitude.

fire a megajoule pulse at an aircraft, boom the plane comes down, however what about the rays reflected off the shiny aluminum underside that just happen to bounce back down onto that elementary school below??

Maybe we'll go back to the way it was in the 1940-1950's, sirens go off and everyone puts their military issue laser protective goggles on, but WHAT IF THE RUSSIANS USE A DIFFERENT WAVELENGTH?!?!!! Were all screwed lol.
