All the data: BIG GREEN LASER CAVITY C MOUNT DIODE CRYSTAL OPTICS ETC - eBay (item 170420736885 end time Dec-22-09 14:27:26 PST)

1) How much green output would it give with 500mW 808nm Input ?

2) Do you think this kit is appropiate and in good price for a beginner ?

Costs: $109

COMES WITH:

A NEW 500mW C-MOUNT 808nm C/W LASER DIODE WITH MICRO BAR GRIN/FAST LENS ATTACHED.

ONE PIECE ND:YVO4+KTP CRYSTAL LINED WITH IRIDIUM SHIMS

808nm AR COATED POLARIZING OPTIC WHICH IS AFTER THE DIODE

ADJUSTABLE AR COATED GLASS OVAL TYPE C-MOUNT GRIN LENS MOUNTED IN A THREADED HOLDER WHICH SCREWS UP AND DOWN A THREADED BORE AFTER THE POLARIZING OPTIC

808nm AND 532nm AR COATED GRIN LENS AND A 532nm AR COATED COLLIMATION LENS AND ALSO A A/R COATED FINAL FOCUS LENS

Green DPSS system = ~ 20-25% efficient.

Green output = 100-125mw

IF you complete the kit perfectly...

One small misalignment of a crystal can cut that power down significantly.

Seems like a neat kit... Decent price I would say, but I've never seen these kits before.

Not a beginner's project I would say.

Do you have soldering experience? Any other laser experience?

It sounds ok for it`s price, specially for beeing collimated. Maybe that 808nm diode could be upgraded for more green output.

With the original diode (500mW @ 808nm) , should it have an IR Filter ?

Yes. Almost every green laser above 100 mW must have IR Filter

And he just joined 4 hours ago  this is why stickies should be required before posting
