you can use aspacer and one of these 10440 batteries.both of them inside they will kill the laser.you can make a spacer out of an alumunium,also dont let the aluminium foil touch the spring of the module,put in the barrel the spacer first and then the battery.

Thanks for your reply, so you say i should use a spacer and only 1 battery ?
will it be stronger then 2x1.5V alkaline batteries?

What if i use 10440 3.6V+1.5V alkaline battery? will that kill the laser too?

use only one li-ion 10440 battery wich fully charged is 4.2v the two AAA is 3-3.2v.don't use lithium with primary,However, if you mix llithium rechargeble with primary battery you can have an explosive reaction.(quote from a website)

empty lithium battery?the lowest voltage of this battery is 3.6v(correct me if i'm wrong).just i suggest you above make a spacer out of aluminium foil.cheap and easy.

Is there any difference if I use a spacer made of copper/aluminium/tin?
or all of them will give me the same effect ?

And there's no way i'll kill the laser using 1x 10440 battery?

o think they will give the same effect,havn't try copper but aluminium foil is made of aluminium so you can make one oy of alouminium.IMO every metallic thing it will work as a spacer.

yes I have tried this and it works great but I must clarify the process.
MAKE SURE THE ALUMINUM SPACER FACES/TOUCHES THE END CAP
MAKE SURE THE BATTERY TOUCHES THE SPRING OF THE DRIVER
This is because the spacer is creating the case positive connection with the end of the battery. If the spacer and battery are in the other configuration it will short out with the side of the case and things will get very hot and bad things will happen. Very bad things.
 
Has anyone here tried this before? how much is it stable? does it still have a chance to kill the laser ?

I just received a 100mw DX greenie for a build.

I put it on my power supply, and it draws 570ma @ 3 VDC.

Even at that voltage, the pass transistor gets hot. I don't think it can handle the current.

So, if you are using a battery with more than 3VDC, I would drop the voltage with a 1N4006 type diode for longer life.

I want to restrict an O-Like module to 3.7v or just below, but want the current draw to remain @ 1000ma
This would allow me to use a single AW 17670 instead of a 3v RCR123 & dummy batt

The diode just drops the voltage.

I also have quality Sony #17670 batteries available ($6.95 prepaid).

They have a lot more capacity than the RCR123 types.
