Very nice. :)
How about a triple beam laid out in a triangle ?

I am talking about a 3 beam hand held........maybe in 488nm or 505nm or possibly 589nm ???

Hi,
Nice tiny build ,but how long would that diode last with just a 12mm module for heat sinking ?

very longtime with duty cycle i said!
how big the heatsink is, but the operating time is so long that your heatsink can't stand it, then your diode will die!
if the cycle of the bulb is enough to dissipate heat, it is no different from a big heatsink, unless you turn it on for too long, your heatsink can't dissipate heat.
That's the basic thing I think you should know from the very beginning of building lasers?

So basically the run time are very short duty cycles. I been building a long time and thats just my rule of thumb with heat sinking.

The BSengineering in that sentence is palpable, Those near uv diodes especially must not really be run above 35c according to sharp and a lot of other companies(ushio even says not above 30c in their datasheets for the max ratings) to prolong their lifetime. For something actually correct here we go. Copper has a specific heat capacity of 385 J⋅kg^−1⋅K^−1. At 1w output the diode excretes 2035.5mW of waste heat, consequentially assuming ideal and homogeneous heat transfer for the 5.2gr weight of diode + 12mm, 5.6mm module we have a specific heat capacity for the module-diode system of 2.002 J⋅kg^−1⋅K^−1. That would ideally mean that the diode will raise 1c for every second being run. At a 27C room temp that would give us a runtime of 8s before it overheats to unsafe limits. Now that's the ideal scenario that does not take into account the heat transfer coefficient between the brass-copper interference/press fit and the laser substrate-brass heat transfer coefficient.

In summery, If you consider 8s very longtime, I envy your wife. 🍻

Hi G,
Thank You for putting that into perspective , It takes me more than 8sec. to pull it out of my pants. And my wife is one happy person.😁
Hehe! Now you make some proper sized heat sinks for the application going by your works and the hosts I have from you, the copper pen you made me back in 21' is still going strong and cooling the 486nm diode I got in it perfectly well!

it's just mechanically molded knowledge! :) and that is reason why the all B52 planes dropped 90% in the sky over Ha Noi in December 1972 🤣

The lad who can't even make a proper driver just told me that education is meaningless because of the US fucking up lol. I'm Greek m8 :ROFLMAO:
The fact that you consider actually doing the math and seeing that its not healthy for the diode 'Mechanically molded knowledge' is laughable, Practice will get nowhere without theory, That is if you don't want to fuck up multiple diodes to 'brute force' the math, Dude that's why the ripple both in current and voltage in yours are laughably bad, No actual theory-derived knowledge there, just your 'brute force' method.....

What a shame for Greece to have someone like you my son! Such a big country, leading science and technology in the world, but losing to Vietnam, let alone a small country with no name like Greece with a population of 10 million people 🤣

Lol tell that to my 0% return and failure rate, Honestly at this point it is just sad to see you instead of backing up your points to result to personal insults(not that I haven't also made a snarky remark to be fair, but at least I made a point in the meanwhile 🍻) The fact that almost zero hobbyists besides the gullible children you sell to on your Facebook group(with 0 safety perceptions obviously, they just use them to abuse their pets as seen in the vids there.) make up your customer base just capture how low you are willing to go for money..... At this point honestly just @Unown (WILD) its your call whether to close the replies or not because I think that we are not going to have a productive conversation here....

You shouldn't have commented on my post, because I only see you writing provocative and disrespectful words for me, so why should I talk to you properly? a kid with an unclean nose that is only fit to be my son, making scornful words about us Asians? remember that it's not nice of you to speak ill of me on this forum! You're just the jealous type, you brat! I have tolerated you for a long time, no matter what, even if your parents don't teach you, I still have to tell you to make you understand that you should learn to respect others first!

That is as always completely false, you should know that as a salesman, any claim you make for your products should hold up to scrutiny. You started this by talking down to Rich(lifetime17) when he asked a simple question. When you are presented with criticism(aka me actually doing the math and showing you that in fact, your very longtime statement is false) you should take it for the face value and admit that that was an oversight and then we can move on with an actual constructive information, You set the tone for this from the start by talking down to him, so also going by your logic, why should I respect you after that? (even when In my opinion I've been more respectful than you deserve.) Calling me son is also laughable seen how I am being more of an adult in this than you have. Furthermore, the fact that you think I criticized you because you are Asian is beyond me, nationality has nothing to do with integrity.

I am not really aware for what I should be jealous of, Selling to unaware kids perhaps? Selling sub par products perhaps? Selling to a much lower QC standard perhaps? Give me a break, Your statements are but a sad excuse, Not a proper response by someone who's actually proud and willing to back up the statements he's making about their product. I will not be replying to any future message of yours in this thread as you do not actually have the capacity to take constructive criticism as proven time and time again....

For context: What your response should've been:
Oh yeah I guess that that's true about the runtime, I will correct the sales thread so buyers are aware about the proper duty cycle, thanks for the info!

My response to that would've been:
No worries! sorry for the snarky remark but I did not appreciate how you talked down to lifetime17 but its good to see you taking criticism well! Good luck with the sale.

shut your mouth son, theory and practice are very different! You still don't get it! I hope you don't comment disrespectfully! In your opinion, you may be right. but that doesn't mean you are allowed to look down on others too many times!
