After watching this video.
I decided to try to build/mod my first homemade laser. I had another 2 535nm (I dont remember very well) and I dont remember the power although I would guess 150mw. I bought some high end safety glasses for 420nm to 490nm (the laser I'm trying to build is 450nm). I needed help following the video I linked at around 7:50 to about 8:35. I am newer at this and all help would be appreciated. I am going to take many safety precautions as I only have 2 eyes.

If you really want to get into the hobby I would unsubscribe and stop watching that channel. I know that you're all excited about it and it is an amazing thing to have lasers but at these power levels you have to treat these as if they were firearms.
Think of it like this, using a gun instead of using a drill to make a hole. Cool? Yeah. Practical? No and downright dangerous. You have to understand that before you make something this powerful.

True, it is very powerful. I really dont want to go blind. I'm just trying to understand how to build a laser, not necessarily at the power he is building at. Also thanks for the advice

HI,
All you need is a host to start thats prewired, then order a NUBM44-V2 diode with a driver set to 4.5a .from DTR. Then solder two wires together . Order the G2 lens when you order your diode from DTR.

Thanks ^^ it helped alot. Also is this the DTR site you were referring too? [sites.google.com/site/dtrslasershop/home/laser-drivers] also how do you set the driver to a specific amp? The driver I'm planning on is [ebay.com/itm/4-5A-SXD-Super-X-Drive-Laser-Driver-NDB7A75-NUBM44-NUMB05-NUBM06-NUBM08-/182195058645?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l4929] although I could order from the site you referred too [sites.google.com/site/dtrslasershop/home/laser-drivers/super-x-drive-sxd-buck]

Hi
Ok when you order from DTR laser shop you can select the driver amp and he will set it for the ndb7a75 diode
4a. Will get you over 4Watts with the G2 lens
it’s an awesome diode but get the diode and driver in a 20mm copper module for heat sinking
And I can make you a host to put the 20mm module in

I havent heard of DTR before, I'm guessing they are trustworthy? [sites.google.com/site/dtrslasershop/home/diodes/3-5w-ndb7a75-445nm-laser-diode]
I was thinking about getting the 7w (I'm not going to drive it that hard) [ebay.com/itm/322808972932]
And I can order the heat sink of DTR. I ordered a host already otherwise I would have taken you up on your offer :/
