Hi everyone :)
I'm new here and I just started getting into lasers.
I'm trying to build my first laser using an SLD3134VL 405nm 20mW laser diode.
For the diode housing I found this on Aliexpress: (sorry I can't post links yet) "10x Focusable 1230 Metal Housing w Lens for TO-18 5.6mm Laser Diode LD"
The brand is Laserlands.
Has anyone tried these?
Thanks

Welcome,

That's just a standard 5.6mm diode module form factor. It's not copper or from DTR but for a 20mW diode it should work fine and with the stock lens if you're satisfied with the beam quality.

Keep in mind you'll still need a host and related parts to make a finished handheld.

Thanks so much for the reply :D Thanks for the tips
I'll try it out and see how it goes. When I test it I'll post the results here
