Hey, so I'm in the market right now for a laser pointer that would be capable of burning pest anemones out of my reef tank. It's been a while since I've been looking into lasers, and a massive amount has changed in the past 3-4 years. But to cut to the chase I'm looking for any suggestions of the best lasers for their power to price ratio, above the 2 watt range (ensures I can burn properly). Beam specs and wave length don't matter ( I assume it would be a 445nm diode though.), as this would be used almost exclusively for burning. As long as its powerful and has a focusable tip, its perfect for my application.
Ive looked at some of the main vendors such as Sanwu, some options I saw were the 3W 445nm Challenger II, Striker sabre 445nm 3W, and the 445nm 3W "304" laser they have under the "Laser pointers" tab. (Going to grab the pocket 488nm because theres no way I can turn that down
, and an eagle pair when I figure out what exact laser I'm going to get for burning.)
So I was going to ask the forum if there are any options where I could avoid spending upwards of $250CAD, but still get somewhat reliable power.
(And as much as I would like to build my own, I don't have the time or equipment as of yet
.)
