What materials are is this art skull made from?
It’s all brass silver and pewter . I collect odds and ends at yard sales and thrift shops to use in my projects the skull is brass and it’s surrounds are the other 2 the visible electronics are just for show they don’t actually do anything the brass skull acts as a heat sink i hollowed out room to work and then added diode surrounded by thermal compound. It runs on a cracker/ wafer shaped 3.7 v 1500mah battery

Yikes! Surrounding the diode with thermal compound will not serve as a heat sink. You need good metal to metal contact for that to happen.

It has been operating daily an for extended periods of time for over 2 months now with no issue.

Good. It was this statement that sounded like you might be using the compound as the heat sink instead of the metal. We have had members do that here before, so it wouldn't be the first time.
