Hello all. Noob question here! I have a few questions about a laser pointer I ordered. It looks to me like the Thor H series, but I am not quite sure what it is. I ordered the green because I am a broke ass and the blue was more expensive, although I'd prefer a blue one. I noticed also that the green comes with 18650s and the blue comes with 16340.

I was wondering what exactly it is and the average output of the green one and the blue one because in the future I am planning on ordering a blue.
I was also wondering if the focus was adjustable and if the green would manage to burn things or light matches.

Thanks for your time,

Io

Where did you buy this? Most often chinese laser pointers are very.... unreliable; Not only that but i would STRONGLY, VERY STRONGLY advice buying laser goggles (Here is the best and only trusted sellers widely avalible, never use sunglasses or cheap ebay laser goggles: www. survivallaser.com/Safety_Goggles/cat556089_826120.aspx )especially if you are getting a laser that can 'burn'. A laser this powerful can blind you for life near-instantly if handled incorrectly.

I ordered it off Wish to be quite honest. Haha
I have the 190-540nm or whatever eagle pair glasses, but thanks for the heads up.

Lago, till you find out as to what this green laser you ordered has for diode do NOT try 2 16340 battery's.
If you bought the green laser Thor?? because you couldn't afford the blue laser than it's most likely a 532nm DPSS and these 532's only use 1 cell at 3.7V to 4.2V. If you use 2 cells you will kill it.
I cannot see the one you bought being a 520nm diode as these 520 units are usually more money than the 445nm blues.
Any more info you can give will help..

Don't k now what the OP is talking about or what Country he is in or exactly what laser or who the seller is in what marketplace--eBay or otherwise?

532nm lasers have not ever been marketed under the Thor name--all green output laser have been 520nm Thor models.

Thor H series currently offered by the guy who created the Thor name and all Thor series are as follows:
520nm 100mW @ $45
450nm 1.6W @ $45 + $10 additional or 3000mW at $45 + $30 additional
According to his web site, the above 3 take 2 X 16340 batteries.

They used to offer a 650nm 100mW that took a 18650 but it is no longer offered and the also a 50mW 520nm green no longer offered.
See Thor H series info and offers by original Thor guy here: https://laserpointerstore.com/laser-pointers/thor-h-series-laser-pointer

Yeah, i'm confused a bit. My best guess it's a Gattling gun type as they do now come with a 532 or went with a 303 style??
I remember Gattling gun type were usually blue, at least I think at first??, and then someone stuffed a 532 in them.

You are 100% right all we have from the OP is confusing signals.

In post #1 the OP says he ordered a Thor H series green or something that looks like a Thor H series meaning the style of host??
Who knows---if not a Thor H in a similar style host it could be 532nm for sure.
Blue costing more rings true of the the Thor H series---would assume if the OP ordered a Thor H it would be a 52Onm 100mw until he says otherwise. All the Thor lasers come without batteries from the horse that created the series. Batteries are not supplied with the laser.

Really the OP needs to come forward as to what laser he actually ordered and from whom preferable a link to whatever he bought from wherever he ordered it. Even if he can post an active link he can give the URL anyone can cut and paste into a browser and the see what he is talking about.
Until then his questions are not answerable meaningless questions because he has not even actually identified what laser he bought--much lass can anyone answer the questions:
"I was wondering what exactly it is and the average output of the green one and the blue one because in the future I am planning on ordering a blue.
I was also wondering if the focus was adjustable and if the green would manage to burn things or light matches."

How is it possible for anyone to answer the question about an unknown laser from and unknown reseller?
Suggest the OP ask the dog he bought it from rather than post meaningless questions on LPF about lasers unknown--especially from a reseller like crapola merchant "Wish"that nobody on LPF ever uses --nobody on LPF has anything to do with anything he bought and would not know anything about same, generally speaking.

Agreed, yet there seems to be one or more of these very same questions almost every day.

I looked and found about 5 or 6 different styles of "Thor" lasers; I guess that most anything can be a Thor. I think I'll stick with Thor's hammer and pass on their lasers for now. ;)
