You know when you were a kid and Mom tolled you :' If it seems too good to be true then it most likely isn't '?. I just stumbled upon OdicForce lasers and I saw some amazing prices for drivers (he has a lot more than drivers but that's what I need rn) and I saw... https://odicforce.com/epages/05c54f...b6-7778-4d36-adc0-0098b2af7c4e/Products/OFL74 An ajst 300mA boost driver for 7 euros shipped... Jaw dropped trough the earth *this is exactly what I for my sharp 488nm in a c6 host build!* Then I started to think *this cant be true other drivers with the same features I need are more than triple the price!* I would order some for testing but as styro pointed out in the discord I don't have an oscilloscope. So here we are has anybody tested such drivers from OdicForce ? were they any good? If you have tested/ used them tell me your experiences below Cheers!

Hi Gianakakis

Theres been alot of testing on these drivers from a few members, unfortunately....to good to be true.

They are constant voltage (CV) drivers for LEDs. LDs need constant current (CC).

They will work with laser diodes, but as the laser diode heats up, the current flow from the driver will increase, possibley causing over-current to the LD, and death.

Aw man thought so. Well I guess my only option is an ACS500SE from a russian guy on ebay for 24 euros or an lDSE500 for 39 $ from dtr or is it? Do you know of any cheaper options? I need it to have only these things: be a boost driver with at least 6v out from a full 18650, have low current output under 200mA, and be small enogh to fit in a 12mm module. Cheers!

DTR or Wooxee are the safest options, also you could ask Astralist if he is still selling his PicoDrives, Ive used them many time without hassle, Postage might be awhile though from Indonesia.

Or...You could buy this drop-in Module in my FS thread: https://laserpointerforums.com/threads/fs-a-few-goodies.105694/post-1571439 ;) (y)

Whats yr location?
Hey thanks for the offer but sadly I have 2 sharp 488s mounted in 12mm modules and I also don't have enough €€ for expensive ready-made modules as I have spend the last on some C6 host from SL. Good luck on your sale tho 50 usd is an amazing price hope it sells fast!

Hi, Your Flex drive V5 drivers are good for the 488nm diodes from DTR. Just need to bridge the resistors for over ranges. They are also great for SM diodes as well.

Hey Rich, The problem with buying from dtr( at least for now) is the damn 14 usd shipping cost. that would bring the total cost per driver from dtr to me to 39 usd!
