The laser came, its pretty cool and I didn't even know that its multi-mode.
One negative thing about it is that it came with a tail cap button even though I ordered it with the "code switch" option, not sure if its worth contacting them about it though.
I'm planning to do a review on it some time later. :)

The code switch option refers to the function of the buttons that usually serve as constant-on/momentary switches. When you choose the code switch option, one of the buttons will be used to trigger other modes, so you will only have a constant on button, not both a momentary and constant-on button. When you choose the mechanical switch option, you will not have the other operational modes.

The only 2 tail cap options are one with a key and one with a button. AFAIK there is no code lock option, if that's what you wanted.

I'm sure if you contact them they'll send you the tail cap that you wanted, they offered to do so for me. You'll just have to pay shipping.

There are no single mode 462nm or 465nm diodes. All of them are multi mode. In this case that means more power. I do like single mode laser diodes for their better divergence specs, though. :D

Did you mean that you didn’t know the driver has multiple modes(flashing/sos/ect) or that the divergence was good for a multimode diode. I thought the divergence was good on mine as well.

*question addressed to ultra

By saying multi mode, I assumed you were talking about the diode. They are either single mode or multi mode. You normally don't use that term to describe a driver as it makes things confusing. The multi mode diodes have larger emitters than single mode diodes, so their divergence is always worse than single modes. But, with more power you get larger and often more emitters, so with higher power comes worse divergence.

I was referring to not knowing about it having "low" and "high" power modes along with flashy mode. Thanks Gazen and Paul for clearing stuff up, I thought those options were for the back switches.
The divergence is pretty good, its actually the same as on my 520nm PL-E Mini.

.. Thanks to ALL for the kind words...JL & Gray are the best.

When I was hosting 10+ Group Buys-- I could soon see that JL was more than just committed to become the #1 company of its 'kind'.

I enjoyed doing them plus all the 'perks'- It was fun testing each one before reshipping.. and long after the real need to do such promotions (after 5 - the 'word' was out and making the 'quota' of 10 to 12 pcs per order was a snap-)-I was able to help with the shipping of 'returns' as JL was paying me back for that cost and they ALWAYS spare no expense to be sure all went well coming back into China.... Once returning PL-Cs and some others the package got opened and they forced JL to pay heavy fees TWICE IMO just to get back failed lasers... like $150usd and Gray had to send someone there (not a short distance) twice with cash..

ANd if all that were not enough.. Gray --JL and MANY forum members stepped up and were all very generous with our members 'in crisis'

Rob and wife were saved from foreclosure on their home--

James Cranmer will tell you that JL was very kind when he lost his wife...

Leo's entire house contents got washed away in a flooding river (Ven.) the forum and Gray helped him get beds etc. AND there were more..

IF LPF is a family then Gray is our very kind uncle who never fails to help. -- My record-keeping skillz suk-- so I have no exact number of JL Lasers purchased by LPF members-- close second... none- not close at least.

I was asked to start a JL social group-- ''N/P''

ahhhh. YES PROBLEM-
Joining (or accepting an invite) is just step one.. IF you cannot 'do the next steps' PLEASE do not join JOG.:tsk:

the other 'steps' involve opting for notification of a new 'post/thread/etc' at JOGroup... as BY DEFAULT iirc the ONLY way you know about new activity would be only known if you go to the group and search-- by 'subbing' you have a choice of additional ways to know about new activity-- I do not mind getting an Email as new stuff at JOG would never be active enough to be a bother.

>>>> AND I can in some cases read the new 'post' in my gmail so no need to go to JOG;)

There is a 'trading post' 'thread' where I always have some JL Lasers for sale both new and gently used--BEs- and extra parts-- send me a pic of your PL-E Mini tailcap and I may have one I can send (swap).

THis is a re-rant -- The best idea?? change the subbing of SGs to be 'on' by default unless the member 'opts-out'
many here are too busy (&/or lazy)

https://laserpointerforums.com/groups/jetlasers-owners-group/

changes in subbing found at 'Group Tools' drop menue.

I could sure use some help with JOG-go there and you will see that pretty much I am the only true active member of JOG.

Forwarding a link to this thread to all JOG just *might* get more 'subbers'

Hey Len, I definitely remember, and miss all of your Jetlasers group buys, those good deals got me hooked on J/L back in 2012 when I first joined LPF. :yh:

I also remember those times when a few of our members were going through some very hard times, and many of us came together to contribute as a family in any way we could.

Your post here is a good reminder of what Jetlasers/Gray and you have done for LPF over the years.
It also explains to the newer members why many of the veterans, especially those of us who own J/L products, continue to praise the highest build quality and best customer service in the business, which is provided by Jetlasers.

It was customer support that got me 'hooked-up' with Gray--First buy- 250mW PL-C 532-(of all THAT was #1 seller)
I was camera ready to vid the unboxing- I did this at the PO (I explained that I needed witness in case something was wrong.) I had my charged 18650s- turn the key- press the button--nothing! --looked 'harder' & saw very faint red blob on far wall. WTF? took it home- looked closer- the laser was marked IR- not 532..
I PMed Gray- he already knew!! My Pl-C went to the IR PL-C buyer in London. He opted to keep it.. forget IR. AND my replacement 532/250 was ALREADY on the way- DHL Express- he had the track# for me..(IIRC the best was for 'arythna' his 532/250 was 190mW Overspec-- I drew lots on these- unless there was only one ordered. mine btw was 320mW--
Gray;" we send overspec to ensure the laser will always be spec or over even AFTER years of use.."--

So I offered to send the PL-C IR back-- or try to sell for him at break-even-- (conus ship only from me in Tx)) saves on $hip.. So I was putting a feeler iirc @LPF on the JL IR. when Kenom got a deal on a bunch if IR handhelds-- super cheap- no buyer for the JL.-- offer to send back- Gray says 'keep-it' wth?--

ATTN. 'JOG' Members-- check to see if you are subbing the group(pm me if not)-- placing new pics today.. TY

Sale on 10X BEs Pro-Pl-e-10X BE for Mini can be ordered. pm me.
Sale on 3.5 W and 4W 450 Pro Pl-E
sale on 1W 520 Pro-Pl-E all black
two EQ series.
two Pl-E 445 1W demo units-- enjoy to death then you have a great & unique host (internal focus-JL was 1st) --both are Silver $225 each-both for $400.

Payments sent directly to JL/Gray. (on all new items)

FULL JL warranty on all new items.

full JL warranty on all new items.

I remember chatting with Gray here when the Ti lights came out. I was too poor at the time to buy anything but told him I would in the future. 3 PLE Pro lasers later he recalled our old conversations on this board and said I did not have to buy anymore! Hilarious!
I miss Gray posting here and love my 2 520nm 1 watters and my 3200mw+ 465nm laser. They are beasts that are well made. I have a 10x beam expander too from them. I very highly recommend them. Great product and service.
One of my 520nm PLE Pro lasers does 1243mw...epic green fun!!! 26650 cells work great in them but you should get unprotected flat tops for best fit. 18650 cells work but runtime is better with the bigger cells.

Fair warning...use of the PLE Pro as a pocket laser will not work. They are huge. Unlike compacts, you can turn them on and just run them.
Heatsinking and stability on all of them is excellent. You should not point them at fine wood finishes either. They burn like mad.
Best money I have spent in the hobby and using them always makes me laugh.

No other company I have dealt with in China comes close. They are epic.

ETA. 3859mw on the 465nm PLE-Pro. Via 10w laserbee meter. Yes, Jetlaser rocks!

'gave me a 50% refund on shipping '

HALF OFF the shipping not the laser so a ... $17.50usd 'rebate'

The mini is a sweet little laser--only made sweeter w/ the JL 10X Beam Expander.

JL makes the best.. and the customer service matches that.

(and only I know of most every 'good deed' Mr Gray has done [often from his own pocket] for LPF and some of its less fortunate members when they needed help the most)-- Thanks to the OP --I know Gray appreciates being appreciated.

So there is never a 'bad time' to say thanks to Gray.. do it here==send a PM --even if you own no JLs.. (yet)

Are you for real?

Please do a bit or reading before asking a question like that.

btw
try to avoid 'double posting'--just use 'edit' and add anything you want IF yours is the last post.
If it was the post of another... you would not be double posting...

consider adding your general location in your profile. TY
