That email sounds good. Now, you only have to wait to find out your new cost. I hope they can find the issue and realize it was there all along. That could make your cost include shipping only.

Well, that would cost $135, I expected less... kinda high for a dead pump..

You’re paying for their service too unfortunately. Consider that lesson learnt on this one. If your laser is still under warranty and it’s failure wasn’t your fault then send it back to get repaired. I hope you get your laser back soon.

Yeah, that's too bad. Never tamper with a new laser that doesn't work. That is really what you are paying for.

My heart aches for you while reading this. BUT you will have a yellow laser again - and that is VERY cool. I, too, have made some very expensive heat-of-the-moment/"I want it fixed NOW and I don't care if its 3AM and I'm going cross-eyed" repairs. But, we live and we learn. And most importantly, we enjoy the beams in the end. :) Excited FOR you to get it fixed!

Well, that was quicker than I expected. I hope it works well for you and you have no further problems with it. If for some reason it does fail again don't mess with it at all. In the end it will cost you far less money. I don't know what the claimed duty cycle is for your 589nm laser, but I would stick to it. ;)

I have a feeler for something like a video-review. That was a huge amount of money spent, I even had to lend some from my father. I hope this is the last time I do that. Those things can happen, and I already know how this can be.

About duty cycle, it’s 1 minute. I had same 532nm laser and it was running all day long and nothing bad happened. We can only suspect faulty diodes in those cases.
My yellow now has 1 year warranty.

That was quick. I'm glad you got it back so fast. It must have been a simple repair and I hope it didn't cost you much. Now it is time to enjoy that bad boy. :)

How does yours look though a diffraction grating? A lot of members here have multiple lines

I do have some multi-line 532nm lasers. One is four lines and the other, six. I would be disappointed to find a 589nm had multiple lines as you often pay a premium for them. It wouldn't be useful as a calibration tool for spectrometers.
