Review of the Sanwu Challenger II- 465 nm 2 Watt multimode

I tried to meter my new jetlaser 465nm PLE-PRO I received today. It is over 3200mw. It limited my laserbee 2!
It burns like mad!

This was sold as a 2 watt laser? It seems unlikely it would measure over 3200 mW if so. I have many 2 watt lasers and they all burn like crazy, so that by itself is not a reason to believe this one is so far over spec. I would consider trying to see if your meter is out of calibration. It certainly seems like a possibility.

No Paul. It was sold as a 3.5 watt laser. After I placed the order I was contacted and told optical out would be 3 to 3.3 watts.
I was also given a rebate. I had the option to cancel the order or proceed. I went with it. It runs off 2 26650 cells.
I will meter the tailcap current tomorrow, family chaos permitting!

My laserbee 2 is fine, but unable to read just how much over 3.2 watts it is!!!

Hey Paul- he is discussing his (sold as) 3+ Watt Jetlaser 465 nm so it's probably not a measurement issue-other than it being at or over the upper limit of his Laser Bee. I think he was looking for a 4W and they got back to him that it was closer to 3.3 W-and gave him a discount-if I have it right. That's good business practice on Jets part-which is refreshing seeing the wildly exorbitant claims from less scrupulous vendors.

Another beam. No fog used- just particulates from the candle. Lovely color. Much "bluer" than the 445.
I have it set up on a sink counter-with a heavy matte dark grey rock as a stop. Color preference is a funny thing. I prefer 465 nm over 445 and 520 over 532 nm. It makes no sense to most people I talk to. Why get a 505 nm or a 488 or a 492 nm?

Just went back and reread the OP. It says it takes a single 18650 that you got from Sanwu so it would fit correctly. I still can't find the post that says different.

Sorry for the confusion...I was excited because my laser is also 465nm which is a new wavelength for me and my first powerful blue.
I have never owned one of the 445nm variety. Forgive the hijack Pelagius. I don't know any people to share my passion for Lasers with.
Which of course is why I am here!

When I joined this forum I had only a pitiful camera. I have gone insane with photography and now have ridiculously
good equipment. I have to be careful not to fry my Nikon D7100,D7200,D500 sensors! I want to set up a comparison beamshot pic
for my lasers. Pics of the host not emitting are easy. Getting it set up while lots-o-watts go down range is different.
I will post a couple of reviews soon...and they will be pic heavy. I live in the city, so the beamshot pic alone may freak out the neighbors or require unpleasant interactions with the police. My property is highly visible and even when putting dots on the cloud I notice traffic slowing on the nearby main road!!!!!

Oh! You might want to get out of town before "beaming" the clouds. A 3.3 Watt 465 nm has a highly visible beam. Best be careful to avoid issues with the police.
