New to the forum but have lurked for a while, hello everyone! As the title states the lens on my 4w 445 pl-e pro laser has a crack and I'm at a loss where to turn to for a repair/replacement other than sending back to manufacturer which I'd like to avoid. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated!

Jetlasers service and support are excellent, but if you don't want to send it back, you may try to contact Hakzaw1, who is a member here, and also our contact with J/L, he may be able to help you out.

If the lens housing is the M9X0.5M threaded multi-element lens, you can buy one that is AR coated for 445nm in glass lenses for ~$3.50 on eBay. You can the unscrew and remove the old lens and replace it with the new version. If you have calipers, you can check the lens housing diameter is 9 mm.

Hopefully the lens isn't glued into the focusing adjuster housing, knowing how the Chinese love to glue everything in place, this could make replacing a pain.

Definitely glued in and cant tell if its threaded or not. Guessing I'll have to go through j/l. Will ask the member you listed first though, thanks.

I thought so. That ain't the lens and it's not a lens. It's a dust window. In any case you'll have contact them and send it back or perhaps they'll send a new window.
Sorrry i wasn't accurate enough with my wording of lens versus dust window. You know an easier reply would have been "is it the lens or the dust window?". Thank you for your knowledge of proper laser part phraseology, it helped tremendously...

Glad I could help.;) Now consider this. You contact them and say you broke the lens and they send you a lens when what you really needed was a dust window. You'd be a bit disappointed I imagine. So it pays to accurately describe the problem

On the flip side a new member asks a question and you give a sarcastic response even though you thought you knew the actual problem. Really helps everyone...To the people that actually helped and cared about my problem, thanks again.

A dust window is something you can get by without. You might try removing the old cracked window and seeing how you like the beam without it. I would keep it wrapped up and out of the air after removing that window and don't get too close if you want to burn something as the smoke will deposit onto your optics.

Typically all JetLasers products PL-E Pro included are assembled with epoxy glue on the threads as anti=tamper and to keep the assembly tightly together making it difficult to take them apart---so even if you have a new dust window it may be be rough unscrewing the crown to be able to replace it without damaging anything.JetLasers products are not supposed to be end-user serviceable.
Have you tried to unscrew the crown piece holding the dust window?

I have not, noticed the crack and thought I'd ask before going further.
