Hello there,

it's been in around 3 full years now since I posted in LPF.com, leaving the laser hobby back then behind for good and focusing on general landscape photography since. I have nothing but great memories going back to that time, much fun I had trying to photograph the beam using my loyal Nikon equipment:giggle:.

I want to believe there are still some of you who might remember me from reading some of my old laser pointer reviews with possibly as rich "product and photons" gallery. Or there are those I had the honour to deal with and exchange some good info and general hobby vibe... I wasn't watching the forum since much, I'm sure many new enthusiastic members became loyal to the laser hobby in a much profound way than I ever did:whistle:.

Anyway, without writing too much dwelling to the past (sure enough I'll keep the nice memories!), I'm back for now to sell what's been left from the times I was a regular visitor. Hereby I'd like to sell a laser power meter well known among the members as LaserBee 5W laser power meter with all the original cable work and accessories that came with it when I bought it about 5 years ago. The original Ophir head is naturally included. I bought another Ophir head from eBay roughly 4 years ago and used it along the original one, too.

I could type more about what condition all the equipment is, but I'm sure that only pictures can give the potential buyer (be it a starting laser hobbyist or advanced member looking for a spare Ophir head) the best idea of what's on sale here.

IMPORTANT NOTE 1:

The equipment hasn't been used for the last 3 years at all, was well packed in a drawer. I've briefly tested both heads just recently and can confirm they work fine. Some facts to be stated here: there's a difference in reading between the two Ophir heads based on my findings. The original LaserBee head (labeled with S/N 00137) that I believe was properly calibrated from the factory, generally goes lower by 5-6% within 5W/5000mW scale as read by LaserBee software interface. Or in another word the eBay (made in Israel) Ophir head reads 5-6% higher compared to LaserBee Ophir head.
DISCLAIMER: As I don't own a calibration equipment required to confirm whether one or both heads need to be re-checked for precise readings or not, I can't say how accurate/exact readings coming from these heads are from the time I bought them 4-5 years ago.

IMPORTANT NOTE 2:

There's a slight mark on the reading laser surface of Laser Bee Ophir head. There's also a small amount of rust on LaserBee's Ophir head front screws.
You'll see the overall condition of both Ophir heads clearly among the images listed below! Needles to say, the eBay head is cosmetically in better condition.
It's important to mention that I haven't observed any unusual behaviour in reading output while testing both heads, with the only difference to be seen in overall power output as already stated in note 1.

I'm taking a few factors into consideration when it comes to final asking price like the condition, age, readings and overall state of items. Going by the recent thread sales on the Ophir heads alone, I'm prepared to offer 6 sale scenarios in order to accommodate buyer's mind:

1) All the equipment listed for 800USD. This means LaserBee 5W LPM with all accessories and two Ophir heads.

2) LaserBee 5W LPM with all accessories and original Ophir head for 400USD.

3) LaserBee Ophir head only for 300USD.

4) eBay sourced Ophir 20C-A-1-Y Head only for 350USD.

5) Both Ophir heads for 600USD with the 4-pin cable. Note: the cable is fairly short and custom made, but works perfectly.

6) LaserBee 5W LPM with all accessories (cables, mini disc, etc.). No Ophir head will be included. 100USD.

As a free gift a stainless steel flashlight will be added to sweeten up the deal!

All of these sale options will include insured and registered shipping to US, Canada, European Union countries. Tracking number will be included, naturally. Main payment method accepted is PayPal, I'll cover all the fees required(y).
For all other countries the interested buyer must inform me about his\hers country of residency beforehand (for me to check if it's possible to ship there).

And here's the most important part - 5 images of the two Ophir heads:

Head on the left is eBay (made in Israel), LaserBee head is on the right.

Since there's a limit of 5 media/flickr images in total, in order to see more like the actual LaserBee 5W LPM with accessories and more Ophir head shots, visit the following flickr link, please:

Any sales related questions, please feel free to drop me a PM or say a word in the thread below. Try to keep all the comments related to the actual sale, please;).

Thanks for reading and watching!

Good luck on your sale, gismo, and nice to hear from you again! :)
Ophir sensor heads have been in pretty short supply for a while now, hopefully these will sell quickly for you.

PS - I sure do miss all your photos of your lasers in the Irish countryside!

A hello from a good old member definitely brings the nice memories back, my friend:giggle:. Thank you for encouraging words!

I'm curious if any of these items sell at all, I've been out of lpf.com image for way too long now. Time will tell, I'm in no hurry really;)

I've still got the J/L Ti-B that I bought from you when you were selling off your laser collection; it's still going strong.

Glad to hear that(y). Still have some good old pieces left in what's left over from my collection. Depending on how the sale on these Ophir heads/LaserBee goes, I might let some of them go for a reasonable price, indeed... but only time will tell:unsure:

I do remember you, gismo. The Ophir heads have been in short supply lately with one coming up for sale recently, but your asking price is not unusually high, so you should be able to sell at least one fairly quickly. Good luck on your sales.

Thanks, Paul. I've tried to price "the goods" reflecting the current situation while preserving a fair enough price point. Comment appreciated(y).

Hi Gizmo,
Good to hear from you! Still have my Nikon 5500, probably going on about 40K images. Since the last time we communicated, I also got a 8mm fisheye lens, which is great for laser photography and many applications I have used. I also now have a dedicated laser room (painted in black), which is use almost everyday. Like Bowtie pointed out earlier, we all miss your outdoor laser pics from the Irish countryside. So many great shots!

Hey Bruce,

I knew well you'll be still "chasing the photons" in the Multimedia gallery of lpf community:giggle:. Some spectacular captures you have there, the fish eye definitely gave your work another extra level punch, for sure! Having your private "dark room" is like a dream come true (analogy to the old fashioned film photography days, still alive among some). As you pointed correctly, I've been always drawn more to the outside, just to give the laser beam a greater perspective, especially after I started to favour landscape genre before the laser hobby. With the Nikon D850 and solid choice of lenses there are options as wide as never before!
After all, still keep the basic wavelengths in the drawer (gosh how I muss the rich golden yellows of dragon laser though!!!), so never say never. And now with shorter days and longer nights coming, well... will see if I find time for myself and the beam somewhere in the solitude of rural Ireland:sneaky:.

Thanks for stopping by, my man!

Appreciate the welcome back, sir:love:. As long as you're happy with the picture outcome, the good old Nikon is still there to deliver, no doubt about that! The current digital and especially mirrorless trend as of lately will prevail eventually, for sure. But let's enjoy what we love doing while the technology (no matter how old when it still works fine) brings us the result pleasing to our eyes, right? On the other hand, I surely am guilty of following the trends, indeed...big and heavy (oh yeah that FF D850). But the age will catch up one day I'm afraid and smaller will be a necessity, for sure:whistle:.

Cheers!

Regarding the sale, to any potential buyer out there: as a free bonus I will throw in a nice shiny stainless steel flashlight in mint condition. Can be used as shell for a nice portable custom build or just as ordinary flashlight.
See the three 3 images, please:giggle:

I had to check on the last Ophir head that sold here. It went to lasersbee for $250.00. That wasn't so long ago. Just a few weeks at most.

Interesting... my impression was they're currently being sold in the realm of 300-350USD, from what I could see in the buy, sell and trade section in the last month or so...that's why I priced them the way they're... but then again I've been out of the picture for way too long, so what do I know...o_O Waiting for more offers to pop, there's been one so far from a member in a PM, but his offer I found to be rather less than what I expected (although I have him in my mind, for sure!) No hassle on my side for now, will sit tight and wait...
