Hey guys..Just joined here. Ive been searching for a laser distributor for quite sometime now. All reviews I read on most of these places like Wicked laser or Biglasers have whole load of negative reviews.
If you can guys can help in recommending a respectable company where I can get myself a decent 100-200mW 520nm laser pointer, it be much appreciated.

Thanks Decameron

Welcome to LPF, Decameron!
You could also go with something like this - Sanwu "Pocket Series" if you wanted something pre built; Sanwu makes a great product. :yh:

BTW, Be sure and use proper eye protection.

Hello,

Please make a post in the welcome section introducing yourself.

Try sanwu lasers, optotronics, or a CNI reseller llike laserglow.

There are several options open to you. You can buy from the sites already given, or you can get a custom build from someone like Lifetime17. Just drop him a private message about what you would like. Eventually, you may want to build your own as you will have the most control over how it turns out and it is also the least expensive way to get a good laser. Almost all of my handhelds were built by myself.

Hi D,
I received your PM and for a 100/200mW 520 the PL520B from DTR is what your looking for. You can purchase the diode and have it sent to me for a build. Or I can purchase it also. The are 2 options , 1) a custom made host , or 2) a flash light mod host .

Thanks Rich for your reply. If I can put down ideally what im looking for and how i intend to use it then see how we can develop from there? I may depending on cost look at the 1w diode or somewhere in between 200mW and 1w.

Thanks

Hi D,
Well a 900mW to 1W 520 your looking at about 200.00 with a driver from DTR . And a 100 to 200 mW 520 would be about 110.00 with a driver. The lens is another factor G2 or 3 element . If you looking at a 450 0r 445nm diode (Blue) they are more reasonable in price. Go to the DTR shop and look around.

Decamern, Rich built me a green 501b host with a PLP520B1 doing around 170mw with a 3 element lens about 2 years ago. It is my most used unit by far.:)
Unfortunetly I can't post pic's but "maby" Rich might still have a pic of it.. He is doing some nice custom hosts now though:)

Hi GSS,
Wow 2 years ago seems like yesterday shows how time passes us quickly. Glad to hear you still enjoy the 520nm build.

PLP520B1 is my favourite too, and Lifetime17 is man to do that!
Isn't it a nice diode and a good medien of power before going to a class 4 level.
Whats your outputting? Rich set mine to .430mah as he was careful to not over drive it.

Mine is doeing +175mw minus Sanwu 3XBE >>

Super Duper low divergence setup runned by one 3,7V Li-Ion Battery..
Perfect combination :p
