Where do you guys store your lasers?

hi ,
I use a Padded case with antistatic military foam lining. You can get these cases from Walmart in all sizes. The foam I get from a tenant in work that deals with close out military electronics . Or you can get the cases online .

I have that exact case Rich
I can store 5 of some of my best units in just one. You can either cut out some of the foam to form fit or like others said just close the lid and and they stay snug.
Yup Walmart, Staple's and iv'e seen them at my local CVS..

These are some great cases buddy study and has a locking feature. Add some foam and you can put them up against the Samsonite Gorilla ..

These are a couple cases that I use to store my lasers, the first two pics are a "Redhead" multiple pistol case, and the last is just a cheap plastic single pistol case.

Nice cases, Jeff. I see you have some covers over the front of some of your laser pointers. I try to do that too. Otherwise I seal them away from the air. How well do the cases work in keeping dust off your optics? The case is an especially good idea if you are planning to travel with your lasers, it seems to me. Not something I do, but if you are going to a LEM it seems like a good idea.

Thanks Paul, like you, I like to keep the dust off as much as possible.
Those yellow, "dust caps" are actually covers that are used to protect the threads on hydraulic fittings; I just searched for matching ones that were the correct size. :yh:

The larger case is excellent at keeping dust out.
I'm not planning on traveling with my lasers any time soon, I just like them to be secure.

Huh. I'll have to look around to see if I can find some lens covers by repurposing other plastic items. Must be my lucky day as my M462 showed up today. I also got the host that Chris gave me sent by RedCowboy, so a really great day so far. :yh:

Wow you guys are creative, I really like all of your cases, Lifetime and bowtie you guys have some really good ways of storing lasers. I will be looking into getting a pistol case and cut out my own foam, I like the "snug" cases where the pressure holds the lasers in place but I'm gonna cut my own foam so if I'm presenting it to someone and it tilts by accident the lasers won't fall out with cutout foam. Also good idea covering them even though they're inside a case, always good to have double protection as dust particles are extremely annoying and mess up the lens if not maintained properly.

My first case was a Pelican (in the pic) and the other two are from Harbor Freight. They were inexpensive, around 35 dollars, and someone I knew gave me the pink foam which I cut out for my needs. The case in the pic is a Laserbtb PL series case, "customized" to fit three larger lasers.
There is an older thread on this topic on the forum somewhere. I forgot which member it was, but the had all of their lasers stored in a beautiful glass display case. I remember it was stunning

Also wondering about battery storage. I fly RC planes and there are special bags for storing lipos. In fact when flying they are required.

Hi ragebot, those yellow plastic caps are just protective covers that are found on the threaded portion of various hydraulic, gas or water fittings, such ell's, tee's, 45's and also pipe threads.

I just searched for a size that fit my need, and used all the same color. These are just thrown away as the parts are used, so I guess I'm sort of re-cycling. :yh:
