Best lens for Collimation ?

I have a lens that is the same quality as the G2 and G7 but with a 11mm focal length, much much better than the tripple glass lenses sold on ebay. I have found this to be the best. If you don't believe me I can send you one for free, just pay me 5$ for shipping... they sell for 15-25 :wave:

Where do you see bi-cvx aspherics being used? There can't be a pcx asphere. It's either a pcx lens or a bi-cx asphere lens.

Where do you see bi-cvx aspherics being used? There can't be a pcx asphere. It's either a pcx lens or a bi-cx asphere lens.

Laser Diodes:
My experience - many collimating lenses are plane/asphere. Only a small portion of asphere / asphere. We use only a multi lens system (all kind of achromats) for very specific applications.

532 nm laser - this laser has a very different laser beam properties (small initial divergence) thus a concave/plane and plane/convex system collimates well enough. The next level would be to use achromats.

LED:
not my specialty, but as I know, the collimating optics is very very complicated. A simple lens is not efficient as it can not collect all light.

Can either of you provide a link to a photograph of such a lens?

If the application is to achieve very low beam divergence why would an achromat lens be useful?
