I just PM'd him a few minutes ago asking of it is focusable, I don't think it is though.

Alaskan, are you talking about the 637 Spartan's? If so, the PGL-III-M series lasers don't have any focus as far as I can remember. I actually owned that exact same model, and no focus feature that I remember.

Bright as hell though for 90mW's of 637! ;)

Yes, that one. And.... his has been adjusted up to 200 mw output. Is this a direct to wavelength diode laser, or a DPSS? If DPSS, sold!

Alaskan,

This unit is 637/635nm. This is a direct diode laser. :)

Edit: I apologize Brad if I just costed you a sale here with Alaskan. :(

Whaaa. DPSS have great divergence, but looking up the divergence on this unit, it's on par with many DPSS pointers at under 1.5 mRad.

Aha, I was looking at the wrong Spartan specs, this one actually has awesome divergence at better than 1 mRad, now I see mention of the rounded output, not a rectangle. OK, if he doesn't have someone who spoke first, I will buy it.

Re: FS: Sanwu Challenger 405nm and Dragonlasers Spartan 638nm

Well 635/637 isn't a DPSS wavelength anyway haha. :)

That same thought came to me earlier, so before asking if it was DPSS I did a google search for 637-38 nm DPSS and found one at 638, must have been an error. There is however a 639 nm DPSS made by Laserglow.

Re: FS: Sanwu Challenger 405nm and Dragonlasers Spartan 638nm

Just to confirm, it is NOT DPSS nor focusable. The divergence on it however is fantastic, easily on par with or better than any laser I have owned including LPC builds. Do I need to update the OP to take the spartan down Alaskan?

Got a picture of the spot at ~50 feet bounced off a mirror for you.
Had to get my phones flash to wash it out so the scale could be seen. Beam at aperture on the wide axis is 4mm. This was taken aimed at a mirror ~25 feet away and bounced back the full distance.

EDIT: Just measured, total travel distance was 60 feet from aperture to that spot. Unless This calculator is wrong, Divergence comes out to .22mRad, and yes, I converted 60 feet to ~18 meters for the calculator.

That's really good, if you can ship to me via my APO, AE 09316 address and put tracking as well as insurance on it, at my expense, sold!

Would I need to do anything differently than shipping to a domestic address? Never shipped to an APO before. Prices listed already included 2 day priority which was $7.15.

I'm happy to pay shipping on top of the 55 dollars. Only difference shipping to me is you would need to fill out the short customs form to include with it, for under five pounds there is a small customs form, for over 5 pounds a large one, so if you can ship to me, look for the small one. If you do an online click and ship to pay for the postage and insurance with tracking, I believe the form is filled out for you then and you can print it.

Will have to see if my printer still has any black ink and don't think it does atm. At worst, I have to fill out the form.

I put your APO zip into USPS's site and it seems that flat rate boxes ship to there just without the same delivery time-frame if I am seeing everything correctly. Adding insurance for the cost of a new spartan would bring shipping cost to $9.80. That is small flat rate tracked and insured.

If we take this to PM to finalize everything, I already have a trip planned to the post office today to send off the beam expander to it's new owner and could get this sent off while there.

Re: FS: Sanwu Challenger 405nm and Dragonlasers Spartan 638nm

Alright, Just an update.

Beam expander will be getting sent on it's way today, and the spartan will be getting sent Alaskan's way either today or Thusday depending on how busy my post office is later.
Now I have got to get some sleep as it is 6:15am here and I have not slept yet.

Just dropped 2 packages off with USPS.
