I just picture Jeremy, James and Richard from the legendary show BBC Top Gear, how they deal with road rage. Lift up the hand, full palm and go "Sorry", "Sorry", "Sorry" to each person passing by. lol. Love those guys

It happens , i've seen it a few times on busy motor ways or slip roads that are very short . Heh its always like that in Tesco's car park .

Guess things don't bug me that much anymore , only driven for four years but two weeks after passing I was working in London so it was a steep learning curve

I've heard thid term "slip road" mentioned it new to me. Is that term equivalent to what we here in the state call a merge lane?

I was wondering what "Slip road" is too.

And Curtis me too. The original 3 Top Gear trio are the funniest guys that ever graced the tele. I have also watched every episode of The Grand Tour that they are now on, since Jeremy was fired from BBC. I have seen every episode of Top Gear BBC with them as the hosts. Multiple times. Love it to pieces

Yes. It sure is an amazing show.
Slip road is the acceleration lane before you join a carriageway.

Carriageway? Im guessing thats the freeway. Like the m30(I think) that Top Gear refers to at times? And so Slip Road is the on Ramp as we call it here in the US. Interesting.

Yep, you're correct.

I've heard on ramp or slipway in Scotland, and either carriageway or more specifically motorway as carriageway isn't specifically a motorway.

[I hate] speeding
...
I typically drive between the limit and 5 over

YnBUPzd.gif

Just kidding. I follow all the rules and conventions except speed. I usually go 10-20 over (in non-residential areas, anyway). On occasion, 60-over while passing if the conditions are optimal. :eg:

Let the hate flow through you!

Thought of another. When 2 cars are stopped at a 4 way stop and one car is to your right the car to your right has the right of way. Virtually everytime I encounter this situation the response is they just sit their not knowing what to do. It's more complicated when four cars arrive at a 4 way stop. Even a 2 way stop presents difficulty for some.

This is what I see most do at a 4 way stop. The first person there goes first. It works and makes sense.

Let's see, people who are convinced their low beams don't work (enjoy my hid's if no traffic), hid's/leds in halogen housings, people going UNDER the speed limit, people who slam brakes if the see a cop while going the speed limit, lack of signals, incourtious merging/Lane Changes, tailgating, slow left lane drivers, people who refuse to allow semis into the right lane, SLOW sports car drivers, ricers (no I don't want to hear your civic/Integra before I can see it, litterers, distracted drivers (phones/passengers etc), drunk drivers (had my car for a week before I had to pass one before they rolled their Damn truck in front of me) and of course can't forget insecure/incompetent drivers. Did I miss any?

EDIT: forgot people too stupid and/or lazy to replace blown bulbs whether headlights, brake lights, or indicators. People who ride in the furthest lane from their turn(leftmost out of three when they intend to take the next exit) Also forgot people who think that their turn signal is a GTFO of my way light. Just no. My car has full coverage and great crash ratings.

Wow, when I suggested this thread yesterday while having a conversation with diachi, I was sort of kidding. But, here it is and on the third page already. I already stated mine then as people who don't use turn signals. Also, people who insist on using their brights when there is plenty of oncoming traffic.

What's a carriageway? Are horse drawn conveyances still used in merry ol' England on hiways? Why would you need such a lane, horses walk rather slow?

I'm pretty sure the rules of the road are the same down there as they are in my state. For example: if two cars arrive at an intersection at the same time and 1 car is to the right of the other the car to the right has the right of way. A perfect real life example I witnessed years ago. While stopped at a 4 way stop intersection with a car in front and 1 to my left, both cars proceeded to enter the intersection, the car to my left t-boned the other. Now a few days later the lawyer for the party that t-bone the other called me to ask if I would be a witness, I said to him this, your client was to the left and did not have the right of way. The lawyer promptly hung up. So even though it makes common sense, in a court of law it would not in the event of an accident.

Talking about hi-beams I encountered a pick-up truck that had mounted on it a led light bar. It was still daylight and painful to look even for a short amount of time. At night it must be blinding.

I get alot of people flash their brights at me in dusk or low light, but not usually at night. Since I have a jeep with the round headlights. I guess they are a tiny bit brighter than average headlights. Except those goddamned blue lights, those are silly bright. Always love flashing my brights back at them when I was just using my normal lights though. heheh :eg: And I never use my fog lights, since one is burned out and I havn't bothered replacing it, as it is not a necessity.

I too cant stand people who merge in front of me with no signal, or way too close. I use my horn A LOT. Or when I have thr right of way at a turn or roundabout and someone shoots in front of me. I speed up towards them horn blowing.
