High power laser diode power supply please help :)

I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I don't know of a power supply that does like 3v and 56 amps, it's crazy, but I found this, do you think it might work?

I know it's only 50 amps but I can deal with the laser not running on full blast I'm just wondering if it will work. Thanks guys!

Buying that is not a good idea. Looks like the most powerful laser you have is 0.4W and visible. This is on a completely new level. I don't imagine you have any experience with more power, never mind something that is 45W and invisible. That's just asking for an accident.

Not to mention I don't think you have the electronics experience required to get it working without damaging it (at least not yet). You had a hard enough time wiring up the Melles laser you got. I don't know where you got that 3V number from, but that diode needs only ~2V. Just hooking it up to a >3V power supply will kill it. It's just a bare diode, no driver or anything. Not to mention with those sort of powers you really need to be careful not to burn the faces of the fibers, several members here have done that with these - even at half the power. I absolutely destroyed a focusing lens for a ~15W 808nm laser after getting some residue on it. It'll need lots of cooling for any length of run time too. Then there's the whole safety issue on top of all of that.

TL;DR: No, don't buy that.

From what you have already posted on the Forum....
I would suggest you stay away from High Powered INVISIBLE
Laser Beams until you know how to safely operate them without
causing INSTANT blindness to yourself or other around you when
you turn it on.
Do you know what a FAP Laser actually is ???

Try something a bit more visible and lower powered and get
some proper Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses for yourself and
everyone around you when you fire up any Laser.

I just really like the idea of super powerful lasers, I also already have glasses for most visible and invisible wavelengths, and not really what is a gap even for it just kind of looked cool to me and powerful when I saw the wattage

Work your way up to those powers, don't just dive right in straight to 45W. Even if you have glasses, it's still dangerous if you're not used to working with such high powers.

FAP = Fiber Array Package - it has a bundle of fibers coupled to a laser diode array. Often used for pumping big DPSS lasers, among other things.

Seriously - you don't even know what it is? That alone means you don't have the experience to be messing with these.

Start with 1 watt. Then 3. Then 7. Then wait a while. Then wait some more. Then five years later do research and buy a 45 watt laser but don't shoot your hand please.

Also do I need glasses for the 10mw safety mode on my sanwu pocket 650nm, I've been wearing them just in case but sanwu website says 5-10 mw safety lock or whatever it's called but cannot take them off to look at the laser.
I know I need goggles for its full power I was just wondering if I need them for the 10 mw safety

That is the recommended starting safety low limit to
start using Laser Safety Goggles/Glasses.
If the Laser is mechanically stable and not shining on
any reflective surfaces or living beings then it should
be safe enough to lift the Goggles to see the Beam...

Better safe than sorry........
