Thank you all for your kind help! :)

I'll research some more before buying my laser.

I have two questions still, and forgive me if I'm steering off topic:

- How important are glass vs acrylic lens? Does the acrylic have an habit of melting after prolonged use?

- When a laser is "focusable" does this mean that I can focus it on a tiny spot for burning stuff?
I had a problem with my previous laser in that the beam would diverge ALLOT with distance, although the laser was focusable I couldn't fix this problem.
I also had to use a seeing glasses lens to focus it onto a surface to achieve better burning since the original lens couldn't focus anymore beyond a divergent beam.

Again, thank you all for the feedback!

1. With high power lasers (>200mW or so) acrylic lenses start to melt. The lens can't handle the power being focused through it and can melt after a while. Glass lenses don't do this, because they have much higher melting points.
2. Yes, exactly, or you can set it to long range. :)

I have triple what Mortuus has from them and am very happy with all of them. Every single one of mine are overspec too. Actually thinking of possibly buying a couple pen lasers from them as I never bought the 405nm they sell but have pretty much all the rest of the pens they sell plus some HL and PL too.

Slight necrobump, but to post relevant info: imo, while sky handheld and PL handheld lasers are top notch, their pen lasers aren't very good in comparison. I've owned two and wouldn't rush to own another. The CNI laserglow and similar offerings are better quality.

I agree with trencheel303 the pens you can skip more or less flimsy button and quality isnt exactly best.

Hi guys.

So I went ahead and got the Thor M II blue 1.3W from eBay.

The laser is here. Took only 3 days to arrive via DHL. I'm very happy with it so far.

The casing looks all metal made, but I can't tell if the lens are glass, as promised, or acrylic.

Is there a way to tell a glass lens from an acrylic one without destroying the device?

SKY lasers can give you the light with many colors like from violet, blue, green to red in a range of 50mW and 1000mW. Their price is so vary, about from $100 to $300, basing on the color and power you choose. The lifetime is largest at 5000 hours. In my opinion, SKY is definitely good, really not a toy but a modern high-tech equipment. It is worth to spend your money on. You can Click Here for more information!

If you weren't advertising lasers, I'd be posting a picture of a spam can right now. Also, your link is irrelevant.

I said good day!

Don't SPAM threads with totally irrelevant links like the outdoorfield site about AR15 rifle scopes you put a link to

Hello everyone, newer to the forums and still trying to navigate to the appropriate threads. I just made a huge purchase from Sanwu lasers but i was very interested in Skytech before I found this forum. I noticed they had a huge sale sometime before the new year and all of their high power handheld and potable lasers are sold out. There is a note saying they plan on updating their equipment and releasing new models but there isn't any dates listed when we can expect that to happen. I've tried contacting them several times through a few of their contact emails listed but so far I've been getting mailer demons from both my Gmail and Yahoo accounts days later. I had some general questions about their lasers but more so i wanted to maybe get an estimate as to when they will release their new line. Has anyone been able to contact them or know anything. Did they close their doors for good?

Evrything they sell is made by laserbtb. Skytech is just a retail maketing reseller----look at that web site: http://www.google.com/url?url=http://www.laserbtb.com/&rct=j&frm=1&q=&esrc=s&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiRg__r27bSAhUC6yYKHVs7D2kQFggVMAA&usg=AFQjCNHPpfhh0o6BMhF6-dTxpuMevmXpMQ
