So, I received my 2-2.4W laser from Sci-Fi Lasers. Currently my most powerful laser since my 2W broke. I own a few other 1W blues. Waiting on the 7W.

My communication with Eitan, compared to others, was perfect. He replied to everything and almost instant. Your case might be different but I had a great communication experience.

Package.
It was nicely packaged, wrapped and boxed very tight to prevent any damage.

Laser.
You average 445nm blue laser that outputs anywhere from 2 to 2.4W with a 501B host. It uses 2x 16340 batteries or 1x 18650.

The host feels nice, compact and portable. Black Aluminum. It does your classic burning laser tricks, pop balloons, burn tape, little bit of weak engraving. Basic stuffs. I don't really have much to say, it can do almost everything my 1Ws can do, a little better, faster and brighter.

LPM Reading will be posted soon.

Cons.
Horrible Shipping. Will not recommend to anyone looking for a laser within 2-3 months. I ordered this in february and received it only this week.
The focusing ring is loose, but as others suggested, fixed with a Teflon tape.

Here are some beam shots.

Its alright, D5500. I took it with the long exposure but didn't have my tripod with me. It was downstairs in my other house across, didn't really wanna go and get it. Kinda shaky and didn't get it as I wanted. Its decent. Could have been a lot better. I'll update it soon.

Congrats on getting it. Those shots are nice. Trying to figure out if they are larger than the site limit of 800x600 as others posts look really small now. Think you need to resize;)

Great pics :gj:. Seriously, you have a good camera and really showed the beam and the stars, those are great shots.

And you gave a good report too.

I just love that royal blue myself.

What is the duty cycle like in such a compact housing?

Thank you. Wish I had actually prepared. I was out on the roof having a BBQ with some family and friends and was like, why not take a few shots. The settings were random and not set right for this kind of laser + star combo. If I had my tripod, I'd have the perfect beam and star combo. I'll definitely be ready for the next two lasers.

I like the royal blue but I think my fave would be the 470-488nm.

60 seconds on 60 off. I'm gonna move either this or the 1W 520nm one into that WL/PLE Pro replica host soon. As soon as I get it that is.

Thanks for fixing that. You really did take nice clear pics.
I always find it odd that it always looks like there's an abrupt end to a beam. You can see it nice and clear shining bright and then it just stops in mid air.

I know isn't strange instead of just fading out its like a huge "hand" comes out of nowhere and stops it:eek:

My guess is it has to do with a different layer in the atmosphere where there are not enough particulates to see the beam. Makes sense to me at least.

This is correct! I read something similar on the laser safety site everyone always links.

One of the most pleasant reviews I've read, very easily understandable and outstanding beam shots. +rep :)
