soo cool.... like they're straight out of the fridge..

Seriously though! Haha wonder if Wicked will "upgrade" the Arctic with this diode like they did with the Krypton when the 520nm diodes got popular

Congrats and happy lazing.
I don't mean for anyone to take this in a bad way but in general it's best to post builds like this in its particular section such as green, 445, red rather than the reviews section mainly because a review really should have things like beam specs, driver settings and the like. I look at this section as more for technical specs. It's why I personally don't post my builds here unless i'm stuck on where to post multiple lasers with different wavelengths at the same time or I specifically state a reason right away of why I'm not measuring those things.
Pretty much everything I've seen for awhile now has been out and all those measurements have already been done. Wondering when we are going to see something new at this point. I've been building single modes over the past couple months and found out I had really been missing out on some beautiful tight beams and dots. Remember that single modes tend to have really great divergence and what you get is higher power density (the power is concentrated more because it's a thin beam) so it looks brighter than expected with a lower output. It's why we choose 3-element lenses even though we lose a 1/3 of the output. Too bad the relative brightness calculator doesn't take into account beam specs.
Anyways, just my 3 cents. My points were not aimed at the reviewer but we're meant as a general comment:) it's nice to see so many new members excited about the hobby. Best advice I have for anyone here is the same as it has always been. Be thankful and nicer than you have to be;)
Congrats Alan on the 400. Or should I say 406....

Alien Laser built me a 1.2 watt 16x single mode 405nm and there's no doubt about it having awesome beam specs, like you said :) The beam is crazy visible for a violet laser!!! And with proper focusing, it can definitely burn from over 100 feet away

What meter is he using to measure that with? I don't see how that's possible.

I sent him a PM and asked him to reply on this thread about what meter he used. I'm not 100% but it seems pretty legit with how powerful it is!!!

Nice!

Amazing how close it is to 473nm, and it's a diode! :D

My buddy Jeff T. told me that when they're driven to their fullest, they can hit 471nm :) I'm assuming mine is close cuz its driven at 4.6a!! I've never had the privilege of seeing 473nm DPSS in person so I don't wanna be misleading and say they look basically the same, but I'd honestly be a lil flabbergasted if they really were super noticeably different shades. But yeah, I'm in love with the fact that it's a diode!! Love the divergence of a DPSS, but something about a diodes stability is just so appealing <3 jet lasers has a 30mW 473nm DPSS PL-E Pro for $260. I'm sure that's gonna be in my collection one day. I'll be a tiny bit disappointed if they end up looking the exact same though!

Haha, indeed. Honestly, it's going to be pretty much dead on. You won't see a difference between 470nm and 473nm, even side by side. If you do then congrats, that'd be amazing!

I totally read your last post as you asking me IF it was close to 473nm lol you've made me feel a lot better now that I realize you were saying is DOES look like a 473nm lolol :D Thanks brudduh!

Thank you! I do love it :D nothing beats that feeling of seeing a wavelength you never have before for the first time. Plus all you guys on here are beyond awesome and anything coming from a member on here is a prized possession in my eyes! :)

yes its 1.1W the driver is set to 0.82A i purchased like 4 diodes from dtr and i blow up 3 after using 1A driver so i found the maximum and set the driver to 0.82/83A its 1.181mW

I will get a 488nm diode at 60mW. $$$$ pricey
i was thinking purchasing a 473nm diode from alien secret :D
