Possible to buy "almost complete" laser in USA?

Here on the forums you can find tons of knowledge, I don't mean to nag you about it, but it's something to do while you wait and might keep you out of trouble.

I'm still a newbie (actually totally inexperienced when it comes to assembling electronics), and am looking at getting my first "real" laser, which is something of a dream since I was much younger. Yeah, you don't wanna do what I did. I started out getting a 5mw green, followed by a 45mw green(which was actually like $250 back then), followed by a 300mw green. I basically ended up selling the 45mw green at a big loss because the 300mw green outclassed it in every way and made it kinda pointless to own. The 5mw green(Laserglow lyra) is a nice presentation pointer though and it's eyesafe for general fooling around indoors. I usually only use the higher powered lasers outside for long range pointing and to look at the beam heading into the sky. They can burn stuff pretty well too, but I kinda got bored with burning things after a while.

Is a blue one good for pointing at the sky too? I never hear anyone talk much about doing that with blue ones. The blue ones seem to be all about burning stuff. I can imagine that getting to be old after awhile when one realizes that there are lower-tech and cheaper ways to burn stuff. :yh: But sending a bright lightsaber beam into the sky is something only a laser can do (unless you have a very good and tight-beamed flashlight).

a 445 putting >1 watt definitely produces a bright beam at night. Mine looks sort of like a purple lightsaber without the beam termination. This isn't my picture, but it's a pretty accurate representation. 445 isn't really a pure blue either. It's more of a bluish purple.
