For sale is three custom laser hosts. The hosts are 6 inches long and 1 inch diameter and hold 1x18650 battery or 2x18350 batteries, Focus ring in front and clicky switch in the back. They hold a module that is 12x30mm. If your module is pre-built like the ones that DTR sells you can have it built into a laser in about 10 minutes.

Please refer to the hosts from left to right in the first picture. Thanks

Nice, how does it allow one or two batteries? Has a blank inside if only needing one?

Oh, tks. I forgot how short the 350's are. Duh ..350!

These are also awesome looking hosts, be quick guys... I would snap one up if I hadn't already put through a custom order today!

Damn... I've been trying to get him to build a special one for me for awhile now, double dating? LOL... I guess I'm not going to go to the dance, just need to realize and accept it :(

Haha charm isn't one of my strongest points...I am currently enjoying one of Kentucky's finest bourbons; perhaps that's the secret? Then again if I take notes out of my wallet they seem to have Ehgemus and DTR watermarks on them?

Been trying to get him to mill out a head for direct insertion of several laser diodes, without using an Aixiz type of module, that and to thread the outside of the head to allow a beam expander to attach and focus on it later. I've asked some people around here what it takes to mill that out and they are telling me the required accuracy in the milling is much more difficult for that, not just difficulty, but the needed gear to do it isn't cheap. If I ask a machine shop in Alaska to do it, they want my first born, a bit expensive up here.

Yep I'm aware of your project aspirations following your awesome RGB build. Do you have any CAD drawings of your design?

That's why I like Ehgemus work, all I have to do is a crude drawing and he can do it. I don't have the skills to CAD anything up.

Therein lies true skill...to turn a scribble into a masterpiece :)

Edit: just seen the pic so substituting scribble for sketch.

Yea, I let him decide on how it looks, I didn't give him exact numbers for the size, just want the head as big as he can make it (diameter) and 2 X 26650 batteries with three on-off momentary switches like he made for the last one. Although, the size of that plate to mount the individual CC regulators would need an exact size to fit the number of circuit boards needed for the diodes, not sure it won't turn out too big for his mill. He can do up to a certain diameter but limited beyond much more than 2 or 3 inches, I believe. The number of diodes as shown by the black dots in my photo are more than he can do because of diameter constraints and heat management is a problem too. This has delayed working on it for awhile but I can live with less diodes, all single mode relatively low power ones though.

I'm hijacking his thread at this point but we are keeping it at the top of the list, at this rate :) Only one more left folks! These go fast, if you want it better let him know.

I reckon 3" diameter would be enough to house the diodes as per the config in your drawing (assuming 9mm max are used). Can't quite picture the required circuitry though.

Heat dissipation could be an issue!

I think 3 inches is a bit difficult for his mill so he likes to stay closer to 2 inches. These would be 5.6 or 3.8mm diodes, I want one host for visible light and another for IR, the R,G,B visible light ones are 3.8mm. I can fit a bunch of Aixiz 500ma CC regulator boards in the flat plate, run the inputs to several off of one switch, another third off of another switch and so on. Keeps the current down on any one switch that way. That's another hoop to jump through, finding the right switches, even if doing it that way, the current adds up fast. The outputs of each of the regulators would each go to an individual diode.

OK, with you now...sounds a great project and will follow with interest; hopefully this takes off!

PS Ehgemus I will buy host #1 please, let me know if this can be shipped with my other order?
