Laserbtb 1.6 PL review

This is my review of Laserbtb's PL 1600mW 445.
attachment.php

The laser comes in a good case but it isn't too durable to use if you are going to plan to take it outside in case you drop it. DO NOT DROP THE CASE OR LASER.
attachment.php

The laser does not come with batteries but it does come with a charger that I already took out in this picture. The charger is decent but not recommended.

You'll get 2 safety pins that you'll need to use the laser along with the laser key to activate the lock. The case key is used for locking the laser case. It doesn't work very well but I can see how it might be good if the laser might be found by children.
attachment.php

The pin with the red wire I would use because it is a lot more easy to take it out of the back of the laser. You don't want to pull on the red wire though, as it is only soldered on and will come off eventually. I would recommended using the piece of black plastic that screws over the wires to pull it out of the laser.

One of the pins is required to use the laser.

The laser also has a safety "door" that protects from dust and another safety measure that will need to be rotated to access the use of the laser.

The laser will have a green LED that will go on once the safety pin is in and the key is turned to the on position.
attachment.php

This is the laser size and when it is ready to be used. I am using two 16340 batteries to power this.
attachment.php

I've noticed when holding the laser the door at the front of the laser will slowly close over time, causing the beam to get smaller. It doesn't happen when I tilt the laser to the left so the weight of the mechanism doesn't cause it to close during the time I use it. Still looking for a fix.

Here are a few beam shots.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the product and how it works. For the price, it's truly amazing.

Thanks! I personally love these hosts. Shipping was great actually. I went for the Hongkong post instead of DHL. Shipping was less then $20 and it showed up in 7 days after I ordered.

That is amazing...
I ordered something from Laserbtb on the 10th this month and it was shipped on the 16th. Still hasn't come yet but I know that most orders from Hong Kong do take a number of weeks to arrive. I just wish the tracking actually worked so I could see where in the world it is

Nice review detailed and good pictures, im waiting myself to recieve the PL host it looks great.

and SilverFire if you have the tracking number it should work if you go to usps tracking and type it in, or go first to hong kong mail tracking and see if it has actually left and is on its way to you..

Thanks, I tried that. Usps didn't work and Hong Kong Post didn't recognize the number. I also tried packagetrackr.com and with no success. I know some people have had the same problem with Hong Kong post tracking and I think I am one of them.

Thanks anyway!

Try and wait it out for a bit longer. I also ordered a 532 from them and it's taking a bit to arrive. Hasn't gotten in the US yet. But you don't have to worry, if it's at customs, and you can't get around them sending it, Kevin will most likely send you another for about $40 for shipping.
If in a week or so you haven't gotten the laser or the tracking number fixed, you should send an email or Skype Kevin to see what's happening.

Haha got some funny news about my order, the Hong Kong post tracking just started working!

"Destination - United States of America
The item (LK*********HK) was posted on 30-Sep-2014 and is being processed for delivery to the addressee."

Not super helpful when it comes to where the package is but at least it started working.... a few weeks after ordering.

Nice review, some pretty awesome looking shots! :p

Yes I think so too.
Just 1 question for ATprotector on the last picture though, the blue beam looks like it was drawn on windows paint. Was it just the camera quality? Or was it just a really long exposure?

Thank you my friends. And that last shot is all in camera what you actually see. That is truly how bright, pure the beam looks in the black sky. No added effects.

As for your tracking, they don't tell you exactly where it is, but the next thing it will say is "arrived in United States."
Then you can start looking for your laser. Let us know when it arrives!

Nice review! Really like how you took the pics, they are very clear (it always surprises me how many pictures people post that aren't clear or in focus). Also, I think the word you are looking for is "shutter," although I guess "door" works too :p

Thanks, yes shutter was the word I was looking for, thank you. I was trying to think of a word and door was all I was thinking.
I enjoy doing reviews of products and I'm surprised how many reviews I see that have blurry pictures as well.
When I get the time I'll be doing a few other reviews on more lasers as well.

ATprotector,

Thanks for the great review!

Regarding SKYlasers, I read somewhere the Handheld series (HL) had somewhat flimsy power buttons. The LPF model seems to have nice solid power buttons.

How about the power button on the portable PL model?

Thank you.
