Hi everyone,
I have a Wikipedia account, and one day I was browsing through it when I searched and realized that Wikipedia does not have a page on Wicked Lasers! I will do plenty of research (LPF search button is my sword :D) and will gather lots of information. But as I am a noobie, I will need lots of support and unbiased advice on how to create the page. Any forum members with Wikipedia accounts may also help :).
Thanks everyone who answers! I will need it!:thanks:

I'm just going to do an unbiased description of the company because though it is a crappy Chinese company, it's lasers are quite good.
I will do research. You may track my improvements on Wikipedia.
I will start pretty slow.

Please read the threads that Ryansoh3 posted first. Wikipedia might delete your entry and you would have wasted your time.

I'm pretty sure this has already been done before... twice... Wikipedia removed it for being too abstract or like not important enough of a company to be on Wikipedia or something bogus like that but it worked twice now

UPDATE: Wicked Lasers is covered by a wiki called laserwiki.wikifoundry.com, though it seems rather to be a review. Should I keep on going, or should I just not create a page as this wiki seems to be covering it?

Yeah, I don't think Wicked Lasers is notable enough for its own Wikipedia article. I made an article on it several years ago, and it was deleted.

you did ixfd64?
Well, I'll try again. Who knows maybe they'll be lenient?:na::D
cyparagon, you got it! Unbiased things, however, can say the truth by citing lots of reviews from elsewhere. The page would be both positive and negative. I'll have a review section. and whenever something questionable comes along, I'll write, "According to Wicked Lasers,..."
But yes, you are correct. I will not go around saying it's crappy. +Rep for the notice:beer: However, I am not 'the chief.' as Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where no wise guidance is, the people falleth; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. "

The Wikipedia keeps getting stricter, not more lenient. If you want to write an article about a company, you first need to demonstrate its notability with reliable secondary sources. I tried doing that for 2 minutes on Google Books and didn't have much luck. Then I searched on CNI (Changchun New Industries) and got lots of hits from very serious-looking books.

Just because something has the word "Wiki" in it doesn't mean it's connected to Wikipedia. Wiki is just a Hawaiian word that means "quick".

Yea I'll get a lot of sources don't worry.
So do you mean that could be a Hawaiian site?
It seems to be a wiki.
Any more advice?

Is a brainless and bad idea for more than a couple of reasons.

Why would anyone want to haunt someone else's privately owned company with a wikipedia acticle without permission and approval from them of whatever you want to put on Wikipedia.

You have no actual knowledge of the company nor are you one of the principals.
Everything publically presented by Wicked Lasers is the business property of and copyrighted by WL.
WL is unlikely to cooperate or give you permission to use any of it.
WL willl probably make wikipedia take it down and/or go after you --- right?
You will be messing with someone else's privately owned business----my guess is it will not sit too well with them.

Is there not anything better and more productive to waste your time and effort on?

^^^ Exactly. Why would you want to try and give PR to a "crappy" company that probably wont appreciate it anyway?

Do you actually own any of their lasers and have you had any experience with the company? Many here would not recommend them. Yes the hosts might look nice, but they are under spec, over priced and marketed with blatently nonsensical claims. Why bother?
