Lol, so which guy are you, the guy that got burned or the guy that held the laser. I know high power lasers burn really deep, how did it turn out?

I am the "burnee" so to speak. My arm shoulder doesn't look that bad, in my opinion, but whenever I show it to people they seem to think it looks pretty bad, but it's healing just fine and it actually is kind of deep. It definitely isn't something I would do again. I contemplated having my friend burn some kind of design onto me, but with the way this turned out I don't think I will be doing that. I'm a design would've turned out "cleaner" looking as far as the healing process goes, just because the laser wouldn't be concentrated into one tight area like it was in the removal process, but I just don't want to deal with another 2nd degree burn resulting in 6 weeks of healing. Also, for the record, we were NOT attempting to remove the tattoo because I was unhappy with it. We did it because he had the laser, and we wanted to see how something like that would turn out. We both went into it fully aware of what the Dominator is capable of doing, my friend spent months researching lasers before he bought the two he has now, so we(and by "we", I mostly mean he) aren't complete idiots. He knows everything someone operating that kind of laser should know, and then some. Hence the fact that we were using the proper eyewear for that color diode. We're just a couple of dudes that like to burn shit with lasers... <trolling deleted>

Wow I did not notice this. a quick check of wikipedia tells me q-switched lasers are used for this, not constant wave. also, one must match the proper wavelength with different tattoo colors, 445nm is not used for this.

next time you feel like a little DIY cosmetic treatment, at least spend 2 minutes doing some research

back when it was working I caught the beam of my DominatoR on my hand for an instant, pretty hot. I can only imagine how much that hurt, we are not impressed.

Still, as an advocate of liberty and the idea that everyone owns themselves, you are free to inflict severe burns on yourself as much as it pleases you

those safety glasses up to snuff? I had some bad ones that I still got afterimage through, had to upgrade. that is a real bright dot:wtf::wtf:

It did seem like you just wanted to troll at first. Do follow up, it would be interesting to see how bad laser burns heal, this isn't something that happens very often.

Hopfully this link works, if not I'll try something else. But this was the burn on March 27. It has been bandaged and covered in triple antibiotic since before that date up till now. Its about as deep as the thickness of a dime or so, and the tattoo is definitely gone now.

And I guess I should have posted the link in that post.

Ouch, how long as it been anyways. From what I've seen before the extent of the damage becomes a little more apparent a week or two+ into healing.

Wow.
I won't condemn you for your unwise use of the laser, but would you please leave the cursing out of your posts. That laser is close to UV and at that power level if I were you I would keep an eye on that spot for cancer. As for the end result, the carbon left by the laser is permanent so what you see is what you get.

Hi JeremyC. Very sorry to hear about you burn. I've had several bad burns from various sources. Do you have access to an Aloe plant? I find that to work so much better than triple-antibotic. I cut open the leaf, squeeze a few drops over the wound and then gently "wash" the wound with the inside part of the leaf (should be soft and pulpy from the squeezing). Should give you almost instant relief. I leave the wound uncovered and reapply every time it starts to hurt again. It the most pain free and fastest healing approach I have found. I'm not a medical professional. This is just my home remedy.

Best of luck on a fast recovery bro. I understand all the folks here trying to discourage others out there from misusing high-power lasers. I agree with them, but I'm not judging you. I have done plenty worse things in my life. So I can't cast stones.

It definitely isn't something I would do again.
Obviously. So what is the reason (besides alcohol) for deciding to do it the first time?
back when it was working I caught the beam of my DominatoR on my hand for an instant, pretty hot.
That happened to me too. It was not long enough for any physical damage, nor for any sensation of pain to arise, but the fact that I felt the heat of a laser beam really impressed me.
those safety glasses up to snuff?
They look like the same goggles Blord includes with the Dominator. These ones:

If they are, they must be pretty cheap because he includes them for free. Also, they are completely unmarked (no indication of what wavelengths they block, no OD, nothing printed at all).

he said they spent "months" researching. his friend knows everything and then some :) I got a good laugh out of watching it, looked like 2 guys enjoying themselves and hurting NO ONE else.
