Forgot to add this to the video, if you want me to *try* and draw anything in particular for my next 2 shoots, just let me know :)

be good to see multiple colours. With two or more colours they really pop.

Try having someone paint lines across your face with the laser (eyes closed obviously) - makes for a really cool effect especially when it passes over the hair.

Well I was trying to do a photo shoot for every color? If you want to see it mixed then sure, I will go ahead and do that :) I will also try the face thing, even though it might end up to be terrible.

Which two wavelengths do you want?

Edit: Do you think the choice of music is appropriate? Maybe more jazzier music? Music will play a big part in the next video!

I'd leave the music out, or put something really generic that's not likely to bug anyone. Past experience of both making videos and watching lots is that what you might like in music can drive others round the bend and annoy your viewers. I've still got some of my older videos up with music in but nowadays I'd probably just not bother. You rarely hear of someone complaining that a YT vid is too quiet, but complaints about shitty music come in thick and fast ;)

I'd go ahead and use all your lasers in at least one video. The face thing isn't so bad - we tried it and it came out well with nothing but a laser and long exposure. I'm currently uploading an example to show you but my ADSL up speed is so slow it might as well not exist... so watch this space.

EDIT: the image finally uploaded.

Alright, will definitely look out for that. Look out for a new video tonight(California Time).

Edit: Video may not be out tonight, need to think of more ideas!

Just biding my time for now.

Unless one comes up in the B/S/T section within the next month or so I reckon I will be buying the Rigel 2 from LG... and spend what I would have spent on the Rigel 5 on another (stronger) pair of safety glasses instead. The Rigel 5 is back ordered and I suspect that means they have to test a huge CNI shipment to get an overspec one... it looks to me like the Rigel 5 is just the overspec Rigel 2 as CNI only appear to do it in 0.6-2mW guise.

Had a very strong reflection from my 445 tonight and was quite a strong "flash" in my left eye through my eagle pair. No damage or sight problems - the glasses did their job - but a stronger OD rating for blue would make me a bit more comfortable after that. That 445 scares the bejeezus out of me sometimes, 1.6Watts of collimated light is no joke!

I can imagine. 500mW of any wavelength scares the living daylights out of me already, can't imagine 1.6Watts!!! I would probably never turn the darn thing on, ya know? :)

And as you said, LG's Rigel-5 has been back-ordered since Christmas. I was about to purchase it, but spent one day to many deciding between 593.5nm and 473nm and it was gone :( 2mW of 593.5nm is still awfully nice, and is definitely unique!

Yeah it's pretty full on to be honest. A lot of power and it looks amazing in the night sky. Doesn't shimmer and scintillate like the thin beam of the 532, just a very pure pillar of blue. I haven't crunched the numbers but the OD rating of my goggles might be a bit on the low side as the dot of the 445 can still be pretty bright depending what it's hitting. At some point I also need red blockers for my 650, but ATM the risk factor with it is very low - not often used and when it is it's meticulously controlled.

I wonder is the Rigel 5 back-ordered due to stocks drying up? I suppose 589 has effectively replaced 593.5 so less people are buying. Personally, one of the reasons I want a 593.5 is the very reason most people probably don't - it's inherent instability and ability to lase both 532nm and 671nm really fascinate me.

Maybe, maybe not. I think it takes LG a few months to re-stock completely, but not 100% sure. I personally prefer 593.5nm over 589nm mostly because of it's color, the fact it is less efficient/stable dosen't bother me at all. Just seeing a warm sunny color in laser form, will always hold a special place in my heart :)
