Well yes since we are paying for them Dec 31.....Is it worth paying $46 more to get them probably late January anyways? If you order it now, keep in mind its the holiday season so shipping will be backed up weeks anyways from china. Afaik, the GB ships DHL which is usually under a week. So as long as Kevin gets these out first week of Jan, you'll get them pretty soon. Last GB, i dont remember it taking longer than 2 weeks from payment for them to arrive at our doors :D

And seriously join the GB. the lasers you want, still from LaserBtb but just better prices since Kevin likes us here at LPF and if we buy as a group, he gives us better deals

http://laserpointerforums.com/f55/open-taking-orders-round-4-skylaser-laserbtb-groupbuy-86275.html

- HL532- 150mW website price $108.33 Offroads GB price $85
- HL445- 1000mW website price $97.34 Offroads GB price $80

So your saving $40.67 just by joining the GB......thus $46 more to spend somewhere else ;)
The lasers are still coming DIRECTLY from Kevin at LaserBtb and carry the same warranty so you are getting the exact same laser as you would be buying if it was directly from LaserBtb's website. If you buy them on your own and dont save the money then you are nuts!

If only we could get a LG Electra GB going :yabbem: If only haha.

contact LG and see if they will even do a GB. I dont think there will be a big demand for the Electra so they'd need to offer some stuff other than the Electra and the 5mW pointers.

Alrighty guys, look good now, or is there more that needs edited? (Everyone's responses are VERY much appreciated, as wasting money isn't fun)

@ The group buy concept --- I'll have to think it over. I've been wanting a laser for over a year now, and now that I finally have the extra money for one, a month feels like an eternity.

Everything looks great to me although since you plan on getting a powerful blue in the future might want to buy high quality goggles.

But if you feel these will work for now then get them :)

Definitely, when I get my blue laser I'll be using the $8 glasses as a "Spectator" pair, for someone who's sitting at a much further distance than me from the actual laser, then I'll have more expensive ones for whomever is operating the laser.

Its all up to you but i am telling you, if you order it from the GB or order it on your own; you will get it the same time. If you order it on your own you might even get it AFTER the members of the GB do. Kevin cares about us and his GBs so he will ship stuff out extremely fast even during the new year and holidays. If you didnt already know, china follows different rules than the US and literally will shut down for weeks at a time around the holidays.

Like i said, dont feel pressured to join but IMO it is the best option for you, not only money wise but also to get the laser fastest. FYI normal shipping time from china to USA right now is about 4-6 weeks. The whole Li-Ion battery incident has SLOWED shipping down to a snails pace. My last two shipments from china took 4 and 5 weeks respectively. Ive said screw china for now and pay extra to get stuff in the US already. Kevin however will take care of us and push these through with the best shipping option, just ask ORF (guy running the GB), he will tell you straight up how you'll get them. He has run GBs during the chinese holidays and stuff took two weeks max

EDIT: quote from LaserBtb says DHL/FedEx 3-4 days so you'll get it first week of Jan if you pay right away. Orders are shipped individually so as soon as you pay, Kevin ships your order. Im going to prepay my order Dec 24th so mine hopefully ships before Jan

Also FT is one of the places i was talking about above and it took 5 weeks for my order to arrive. ordered in Sept got it Nov :(

I mean no pressure to join, i think its best to think stuff over so dont jump before you consider all your options. Contact ORF if you want and get his point of view and all that with shipping. Im going based off of past experiences with his other 3 GBs.

On the other hand, yeah feel free to shot me a PM with ANY questions you have. doesnt have to be GB related. it could be on the i4 charger since i have one as well, batteries, building lasers, safety, optics, etc....... Im always here to help and dont worry, i have no ties to any companies; i only recommend products that are quality. Most of the time i say screw buying lasers from companies but LaserBtb sells good stuff. My HL532 300mW does 450mW.....i mena dang thats good and you can expect the same from yours. Kevin tends to cherry pick our lasers to be over spec which is why i like this GB. CNI also has great GBs but those tend to be exotic WLs or high powered 532nm which are EXPENSIVE

Enjoy and feel free to ask questions here or PM. Tmack is also a great guy to ask questions of so you are in good hands here at LPF

I second Tmack's observation: HL 532 200mW for $130, HL 532 100mW - $100

Thats 2x the power for just $30 more. Totally worth it, specially if its over-spec. I know you said you wanted it for visibility, but more Mw = more visibility. You won't be sorry.

I'd stay away from those batteries, they are not good quality. i had some that couldn't handle the current draw of my 532 laser and it killed them, they almost exploded, got really hot. the claim of 2000mAh is also false. the highest true capacity in that size will not be over 900mAh, and probably closer to 750mAh.

here are two choices I'd go with over the ones you've found:

AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery

AW IMR 18350 700mAh LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery

the second ones I linked to can be discharged at a high rate, great for high power DPSS lasers. I should mention the second ones I linked to are also slightly wider (2mm) and just a tad longer (1mm), so if the laser you'll need them for has a little breathing room in the battery compartment they will fit, but if the 16340 batteries barely fit, then these will not

i'm with livinloud on the group buy. imo our gb lasers may get just a little bit more attention than just a regular sale. i bought an hl 532 - 300 in the last round and i'm VERY happy with it
