First off, very cool community. I have a colleague that use to work on the laser that shot missiles out of the sky and I hang out at a place in Menlo Park called Techshop where a dude use to make hydrogen fluoride lasers in Costa Mesa, NM that has an output in the megawatt range. He told me about flouride gas and all the nasty stuff that happened in the lab when dealing with the stuff.
However, I'm just here to learn more about lasers from a consumer perspective and possibly sponsor the site in exchange for advertising a group buying site called Massdrop. We've done over 300 group buys that included mechanical keyboard kits, dashcams, and Magic Cards. We basically make group buying really easy and hopefully I can help you guys cheaper prices on laser by organizing together to get the lowest price possible.
