I'd say both were guilty. I never would have shot soembody that didn't have a weapon of some sort unless I felt they were going to kick my *** with their hands and feet. Doing so is overkill IMO. Even then, there should be no need to use more force than necessary. A shot to the leg or arm would've been more than enough.
Treyvon didn't have a gun or knife from what I've heard. Or are you saying he was going for George's gun? If that is the case, how did he know George had one?
You're speculating after the fact, not in the moment, while reacting on adrenaline. When you say "I never would have shot so
mebody that didn't have a weapon of some sort..." You were never in that position, or apparently in a position of having been jumped.
A person does need to have a weapon in order to be lethal.
If you perceive yourself to be in mortal danger you defend yourself by any means possible.
Further, if you draw a gun, YOU SHOOT TO KILL.
The only place where people shoot to wing, is in the movies. In real life, you shoot to kill. End of story. Ask any cop, ask any soldier.
Because he was on top of the guy, pounding away, and could either see it, feel it, or both.
I am glad they found him innocent...but a coworker raised a good point and that is: What if this coverage is so huge and covers all the media outlets because something bad happened in the world that the government/media/someone doesn't want the american people to hear about?
Wouldn't be surprised at all. I'm more inclined to believe news from very small outlets, of crowdsourced, rather that main media channels.
It is happening, and yes it is.
he is not guilty but he is not free, and what i mean by that is even if he was 100% innocent his life is still changed, people who thought he was guilty will still think so, people may even go after him,
he may get fired, shunned, threatened ect, hopefully he can get on with his life
stupid situation
this is why if i ever become one of these watchmen i am wearing a camera
Personally I 100% agree. IMO anything law enforcement related should be filmed 100% of the time.
The technology certainly exists, specifically for LEOs, but there are tons of options for civilians as well.
Unfortunately the flip side of this is that LEOs themselves hate to be recorded.
IMO, this should be required for every single cop out there:
TASER AXON Flex On Officer Video | Police Video Camera
Failure to film, should be an extremely high offense to LEOs.
The media is trying to jump start the racial war again.
That's what it looks like to me. Unfortunately the lowest common denominator seems to be swallowing it up.
I think they were just talking about appeals, and maybe Alex Jones doesn't understand the court system.
Trevor
No, unfortunately he is quite right.
You can be found not guilty of criminal charges but still be pursued in civil court.
Look at the OJ Simpson case for example.
