I would be soon buying a well known website now based in China . I would like to hear imput on what could improve the service. My intentions are to laserbee all the more exspesive lasers before sending them on to the customer.
Would anyone be interested in buying lasers that are hand inspected first and marked with wave leghnth and average wattage stamped nto the host....these will be stock hosts but stamped after testing..a lot of you have a bad tast in your muths from them..I want to improve things here in USA.
Please give me input

Well first what website are you speaking about? From there we can identify the issues and concerns so that you can make the necessary changes.

This sounds like a great idéa !

Just remember that the competition will be high, because Lazerer and Survival lasers do the same thing (checking mW) at a decent price. :)

Metering all lasers before advertising there output power is a must, That way people have more of an idea of what they are buying. and also printing out the graph and including it with every laser purchase. Keep the prices competitive.

Before we could respond to the Website you want to buy
we would need to know which website.

If the Website already has a bad reputation then it would
make more sense to open a new website.

As we all know... a guaranteed/power tested output Laser
will always be preferred over a random output Laser at
about the same price.

Can't imagine why the Chinese would sell a web site unless it is not doing well and they plan to make a new one anyway.

You might be better off doing your own.

Metering each laser and giving a report with the item is a good idea -- I think stamping it into the metal host is not a good idea really but could be wrong.

If you are a US business you better look into the legal situation of importing and selling anything over 5mw in USA unless you want to be an outlaw and take your chances.

Legalities aside, it does seem that even with lazerer, there is still a market for a seller who meters products.

I would only sell only the large ones that have lock n key and aperture shutter. and as oem device. never to under 18 . the 5mw will be available also.

OEM use---not sure that flys any longer.

There are hundreds of web sites selling lasers---none of them in USA for real reasons. My guess is that such a US business is not viable due to US legal regulations and restrictions of laser products as well as economic/financial realities of that business.

You better look into the regulations, rules, and laws more closely.
Example: It is legal for you to own a laser of any power, however the FDA considers the sale of any Class 4 handheld laser illegal, regardless of the "safety features". They classify such lasers as "SLA" (surveying, leveling and alignment) which are limited to 5mW maximum output --this according to one laser parts supplier who used to sell parts bundles as "kits" to make hand held lasers.
May be the same for IIIb lasers also--a lot of people have said this is so which leaves only <5mw to do business with/in, for a business within USA.

Have a look at what you will have to fully understand, comply with, and be subject to here:

That website has a rather crappy reputation.

They have paid for deceptive ads in the past, and flat out lied in the past.

To be fair, they also did send me a review sample, a cheapie 50mW that metered at ~70mW.

Overall, main problem for that website name, will be to overcome the credibility problem.

Yes. however they have done me right. there is a language barrier but i was able to work through it and end up with really nice lasers. the time difference has a lot to do with communication problems
as well. I would be hosting the fan page if i take over and be able to answer in true english.. and hear input from laser hobbiests as well. a brick and morter showroom might be i the future as well

It's not really an "art" to know how to attract, and more importantly, keep customers. It basically comes down to keeping good communications with the customer, deliver products on time (or inform them if it's not possible), provide honest information about your products, availability, and delivery times, etc. Many customers are willing to cut a company a lot of slack if good communications are maintained. It means that their concerns are being addressed, even if there may be issues with delivery, or available stocks, or other matters outside the control of the company.

Aside and apart from already mentioned customer service points --- importing and reselling lasers in the USA from a US owned and operated web site business are at best legally complicated and problematic.

Looks like you are entertaining becoming the middleman of a Chinese middleman who has nothing but a web site. Every other person in China is doing the same scheme to make a few pennies.

If you are a USA citizen, owning a Chinese business in China is not going to happen without 13 levels of approval and a big investment. If you are not in China you have no recourse, no leg to stand on no matter what the Chinese do or don't do. As a US business owning just a web site is meaningless. The pen web site owner obviously does not manufacture anything and you have no relationship or experience with any manufacturers or warehouse suppliers in China. In China business is done very differently than in USA

Is for you to determine what is what, business and legal--am just saying what it looks like to me. If you control all the money to and from the business, maybe you can get somethng happening. If there are no middlemen in between you and the actual manufacturers of the products and the manufacturers will deal with you and if you can legally import and sell the products.

If you are not Chinese or in China you better be extremely careful or you will be buying the "kings new clothes" from China and creating legal problems for yourself in USA at the same time, perhaps.

Maybe go to China and check out the business realities and what agreements can be made that are enforceable and what you might be getting into.

The whole idea is very suspect on both a business and a legal basis. Are you aware that re: FDA as soon as you make a transaction as a US business, you become a manufacturer and are subject to all the regulations governing radiation emitting devices. It's as simple as that, no way around it
