What's the purpose of a lens kit?

you need to wear goggles to protect your eyes, wouldn't the lens kit be kind of pointless if you can't see the effects? :thinking:

You don't have to wear goggles all the time :crackup: How else am I supposed to enjoy the beams?

I only use em for alignment, mucking around (burning, pointing at shiny stuff to see the patterns it makes) and any other time where there's a good chance I'll get a beam to the eye.

Oh okay, I've been reading on here and it sounds like safety is so important that you have to wear them all the time. I'm getting paranoid of getting a beam to the eye

Here at LPF we always stress the necessity of eye safety and I can imagine that on the outside it looks like most of us don't turn a laser on without protective eyewear. When doing things like looking at the beam in the sky or pointing the laser at a distant object etc you don't need the glasses.

Like smith said, after a bit of time with the laser you sort of learn when you do or don't need glasses.
