Diode, dry disc rectifier, tretodes or pentodes?.! Im studying electricity on a aviation school and i saw this and im like humm?.! I have a lot of crazy more types of diodes and rectifyers but those are the principals (; cheers

You are a curious person and so does everyone, i am not offending you in any way!
just because it says "Diode" doesnt mean it can be used for laser application.. For that u need a LASER DIODE

Zenerdiode
Schottky diode
Tunnel diode
Light-emitting diode
Photodiode
Varicap
Silicon controlled rectifier diode
Heres a list of diodes which cannot emit light except for a LED.

Well, maybe if you explain in a more detailed fashion we can really set you straight.
A diode, is like a valve, electrons only flow in one direction. In a laser diode the electrons flow one way and get converted to coherent light similarly to a regular LED process. LD's have a special cavity that acts as the gain medium. kind of like this |===

have a look at the link below.

http://www.jaycar.com.au/images_uploaded/ledlaser.pdf

A tetrode is a valve diode, that uses electron beams for amplification. They have no way of producing laser light as there is no laser medium.
They can (some tubes) when over charged to 70-100Kv create some impressive and wrather dangerous X-ray exposures. I don't suggest you try this.

--- I hope this clears things up.

Logic 101: You cannot reverse "All tuna are fish" to "All fish are tuna."
Similarly, you cannot reverse "All laser diodes are diodes" to "All diodes are laser diodes"

Ok so the guy has a lot to learn. Our job as "experts" is to teach.

Some of the less patient people here put noobs down. That doesn't make for
A healthy forum. (not finger pointing here)

Another thing that Forums are good for is the tons of
FREE information available to anyone that will make
an effort and take the time to do a bit of research and
reading....

The Forum and Google search buttons are your friend..

I think you took that my post wrong way...
I pointed to the search solutions of the Forum so that you
could help easily find answers to any of your questions...
since your question was obviously by some that did absolutely
no research or reading at all...

What is immature is your post... Are you even old enough to
be on this forum...:thinking:Have you read the Forum Rules...
I highly doubt it...

I'm sorry that it is not your way of commenting or what you
wanted to hear... I'm not your mommy... and won't spoon feed
you or rub your tummy to make you feel better... Bye Bye...

I've been on the Forum just a bit longer than you and
the Forum looks just fine to me....
What does look bad is new members continually expecting
to be spoon fed and coddled...

BTW.. you are entitled to your opinion just like everyone
else on the Forum just as long as the Forum Rules are
not violated..

Enjoy your stay....

Please don't let your perception of some members being short with you run you off. There are members who have seen every noob question asked a million times and are jaded by it.

They do have a point about searching for information, but if you show some effort on your part, many of those same members have a great deal of information that they can teach you over time.

Just don't be easily offended and do some searching before asking too many questions and you will be fine.

There is lots of fun stuff to learn here.
